P900 software updates
Dear All,
I'm new to this forum and SE phones. I purchased my P900 and Bluetooth HBH-65 headset about a week ago. I guess, I'm happy with the phone. However, I think, that it's not entirely bugs free. I had to reboot it once (remove the battery) already - it wasn't responding to any command/button. Just like Windows sometimes does. Also, it lost its connectivity to a Bluetooth headset HBH-65 a couple of times so far. The only workaround I found is to remove the headset from Bluetooth devices, reboot the phone and then add it back. I suspect, that it's a bug. And my question is - how and where can I flash the firmware/os? I called SE North America - they don't support this phone yet. Another question is, how can I check the firmware version? I would greatly appreciate any help. Anybody else discovered the same problem? |

To check the SW version do this...
Jog Dial up once then press* Jog dial down twice then press* Jog dial down once then press* Withe the P900 you can flash your own phone. Check the P900 site and there is info there on how you can do it and where you can flash it. |

The home firmware update service has been used with success by the other Michael at My-Symbian. He reported it took about 20 minutes and that it was simple and uneventful to do.

Here's an interesting scenario...
Would it be possible to update a P800 to a P900 using the firmware update? Similar to the T68m/T68i updates... ![]() |

2. Tap on the 4 dots (Applications Menu) 3. You should see [ Applications | Edit | All ] on the top menu 4. Tap EDIT from the menu, and a new drop down menu should appear 5. Tap SYSTEM INFORMATION 6. Tap right arrow button -> twice (x2) 7. It should say something like ---------------------------------- CDA: CDA162003/11 Rxxx ---------------------------------- Rxxx = your software version number Futher details can be found on sony ericsson's website |

Then simply go to sony ericsson's update service here and "get started". Oh and btw, I highly recommend you backup your phone before continuing as the update usually does erase your phone book, calendar and other settings. Last edited by Blut00th : 12-17-2004 at 08:49 AM. |
