6650 questions

I currently have a 6310i (dumped my SE P800 in favour of something a little more reliable!). I fitted the official car kit (91) in my new car and all is working fine. I spoke with Nokia this morning asking them if the 6650 will fit in this car kit and they said that it would. I just wanted confirmation of this because looking at the photos of the 6650 I don't see the jack at the back (top left on rear casing) that helps secure the phone tot he cradle. Will I need a new cradle or can I just slot the 6650 into the kit and start chatting?
Also - any news on a 6650 release date/price for Vodafone UK?
Oh yeah - if anyone understands what WCDMA is all about I'd really appreciate a short idiot's guide!.

TIA,
James

Ok, there is no external antenna port on the 6650 to the best of my knowledge. The connector on the 6650 is the PopPort type, not the same as the 6310i. I doubt highly that it would work.

Re: Vodafon and 3G. Don't hold your breath, it won't likely happen any time soon. 3 is losing massive amounts of money across the globe and Vodafon and Orange are seemingly in no hurry to follow suit, according to the press I have heard on the subject over the past 3 months.

Re: WCDMA. It is a new protocol suite based on the CDMA standard of signaling. It has nothing to do with GSM or TDMA at all, and is an entirely new deal.

WCDMA phones are not inherently compatible with CDMA2000 (the other major 3G standard) or GSM or EDGE, though you will see some dual-mode handsets like the 6650.

If you want more than that, I suggest you ask for specifics in the Mobile Technology section.
