P910i - Questions

I am thinking about getting one too. But what is the exact battery life? Also, is the SE edition with the new firmware? Is there anyway for us to update the firmware ourself? Would love to have one from China, with chinese input

those that were selling in Malaysia and Singapore would have Chinese input as well.... regarding Battery life... it's the best out there among newer communicators... dunno bout 9500 cos it's not launch yet. My previou P900 can last me around 3 days for moderate usage... Sid says his lasted him bout 5 days (am i wrong bout that?)

Again, I agree, the battery life is awesome, just make sure that you give it a FULL charge when you first get your hands on it.

Although, that said, according to a brochure that Orange in the UK have produced, the battery life of the P910i appears to be slightly worse than the P900's battery (down to the better screen maybe?)

of course... but i'd rather have a 65,000k higher resolution screen. Rather than same resolution higher gimmicks.......

I just got my P910i a couple of days ago. The phone debuted here in Manila this week, and despite the pricey 45+ price, I got it by trading in my 7610 (Bye-bye megapixels...) and adding some cash. Do I like it? HELL YEAH.

IMO, this is SE's best phone yet, even with the S700 being their flagship model. Despite having just a VGA camera (which is actually not bad), the P910i is about as close to a perfected convergent communicator/all-in-one device you can get today. MP3 player, game console, communicator, video and still camera, media and data storage- this is the real deal.

My only gripes are my inability to connect the phone to my PC (I'll try to work on that more soon), so I have to Bluetooth files and I can't play V-Rally, and the short battery life.
I know that heavy use of media and BT will drain the battery, but isn't it supposed to last several days? I have had to recharge at the end of the day after a full charge in the morning. I hope this eventually improves.

Other than that, I am in tech bliss. I totally recommend the P910! Get it if you can. Best buy you'll ever make.

^_^

Was at Greenhills yesterday and the P910i retails from P 44,500 to P50,000 pesos (US$ 790 to US$ 890). One guy traded in his P900 for P 23,000 and had to pay an additional P22,000 to get the P910i.

Side by side the P910i has a definitely brighter and clearer display and the thought of a bigger than 128 mb MS capacity boggles the mind. But then again, the damned still-VGA camera!

I told the sales clerk of the rumored P1000 with a 3 mb camera and her jaw dropped.

I'll wait for the Treo 650 before I make my move.

Right now I can say I am very happy with the P910. I love playing with it, organizing and reorganizing files, filling up the 256MB stick with Smartmovie AVIs and MP3s aplenty. It's also a joy to use as a phone- the best reception and ease of use I've had. Also, the large screen makes surfing and getting my Yahoo mail pretty fun (but expensive, ultimately) so I am enjoying mobile internet now more than ever before.

The camera isn't 1 Megapixel, but I didn't hesitate a second to swap my 7610 for this package. The pics aren't bad at all- pretty good for a VGA camera- and the video trounces the 7610 in terms of frame rate and sound quality.

The screen is also pretty awesome- it's great to put on cool animated gifs from my favorite videogames as screensavers. Eats up juice, but I like it.

Perhaps that's my only gripe right now- the battery is on the weak side. A full charge on a night will barely last the next day. During one night, the battery even drained of all power even though it was charging the whole night! There must be something wrong with it, so I'll probably get a new battery.

If you're a P900 user, perhaps the P910 isn't something you'd want (but I think the added memory and screen are great plusses). But for a P-series neophyte like me, it's digital bliss. It'll take at least a year for the P-1000 to arrive... you're a far more patient man than me, Jojoc.

I've switched phones about four times this year, but I'm sticking with the P910 for now.

^_^

4 phones in one year? You must be one helluva dissatisfied customer! LOL

Ever think of getting a 512 or even 1gig MemStick for your P910? I mean, is it worth it to spend that much?

Man, I bet it's gonna cost as much as the phone!

Hey Madman. Happy to see a fellow phone geek like myself I also switch phone several times in a year. Anyway I am happy to hear you love the P910. I was a P800 user before, then switched to the P900. Used it for a year or so and replaced it with the Nokia 7610. And I regretted that move. Anyway after a couple of months using the Nokia I bought the SE S700i last Sunday. And boy am i impressed. Its got the best and most beautiful screen of any mobile phones so far. And the 1.3 MP camera rocks!!! I took some shots with it and printed it to 3R size. And everyone I showed the pictures couldnt believe it came from a camera phone I know its not a Symbian device. But for now I am one happy camper. Maybe SE just makes better phone than Nokias Anyway I do hope that the P1000 would be a reality soon. Hopefully with a mega pixel cam and wi fi. Would surely make it the most complete device out there

As far as the battery is concerned...

I have been AMAZED at mine - the thing lasts for days!! The performance overall is most impressive. I watched an hour long MP4 file (with audio) whilst commuting to work. This seemed to sap the battery to about 50% (from full charge) but then... IT WENT BACK UP!! Madness! I know! but I am happy!

Great Phone! Do miss my Nokia 8910i though (for its elegance and simplicity!)

OH MY GOD! I'm one happy man now, after hearing all the PRAISES for P910i. I just bought one online. Its comin...comin...COMIN'! I CANNOT WAIT! Hopefully it will work great for me. I've planned to keep it for a pretty long time. I own a T630 since Christmas, Dec 17 (First release in Hong Kong). So far I loved it, but its just a phone. Nothing special though imo. I'm so excited...P910...ahhhhHHHHHH! It has so much functions....I dont want to list them again, I afraid I'd have heart-attack. Okay, but I also heard some fellows out there saying that the battery that comes with the P910 is bad. This guy reported to SE and SE told him to send the battery back so SE would give him a new one. If you found out you battery is abnormally draining its life. Try contacting SE. Yo! Peace guys!

hey, i might get the s700i soon. but a couple things i need to know before i do so...
- how many messages can you save? with the z600 and k700 you could only save 100 text messages.
- can you personalize message tones (download mp3 and use as message alerts like the p900) or do you only have ugly choices that's already in the phone by default (like the k700 and z600)

thanks!
