You only gave people four hours to reply, might want to be a bit more patient. =)

SE have said it will be out early next year, and they haven't said anything about price yet.

I wouldn't hold your breath

The Z1010 is a 3G phone, so it's not going to be out until 3G is well underway. I realise that Three have been going for a while but takeup is still low and video call coverage is very low.

They say next year but I don't think SE will release it (at least in the UK) until at least two networks are running 3G technology and that could be a fair wait.

Well, we could have all replied "No, we don't know.", but I don't see how that would have helped you any.

Yeah I wouldn't put that past SE either. I do hope that they decide to release it as an independent phone, as I would prefer my phone to be completely operator independent (and hence without any operator badges or modified software on the phone too).

While I did hear some whisperings a couple of months ago that the Z1010 would be available on the "3" network, nothing has yet been confirmed.

I have a feeling that 3 will try to get the Z1010 though - they need a decent handset in their line-up and the Z1010 is more than decent.

I guess we will have to wait and see, but when they say that it's available in January, you would think they have something planned for it.
We'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah I look forward to seeing it arrive, whether it's badged or not. =) I'm still considering whether to wait until next year or get the e616, as the e616 doesn't really have the killer feature upgrades I was hoping for (like the VGA camera particularly). That's something the Z1010 is supposed to have =)

I've heard somewhere that the Z1010 was supposed to be released by 3 sometime in Q4 of 2003 in Australia. However, rumour has it that 3 had problems with video calls dropping on their network with the Z1010 which I'm sure they'll resolve cuz it was stated that the Z1010 would be released on the 3 network here in Australia as early as January '04.

I agree with Sid's comments on 3's lineup in the UK. At the moment the only generally available handsets are the Motorola A835 and A920 and frankly I don't fancy either of them. The NEC E616 isn't out yet to replace the E606, so really the range is looking a bit thin.

I did see a Z1010 on eBay, but frankly the seller had no feedback whatsoever and when I checked the price was US$660. Best avoided, I wouldn't spend that much cash on someone with no feedback.

I'm betting late December or January for the Z1010.

The thing I am worried about is that 3 will try to disable the Bluetooth/IR in the Z1010 so that people don't share files downloaded from the 3 network.

Wouldn't that just suck. It would be a shame since Z1010 would be 3's coolest looking phone in their somewhat average looking range in my opinion.
