S700 - £500?

Is it just me, or is the S700 reallllly expensive for a phone that isn't a smartphone, £500, and still £400+ on with a cheap tarrif. I think I'm gonna have to wait until next year to get the S700

800 DEM? so that would be around 280 GBP?

I'm presuming you didn't mean in euro 'cause that would make it around 540 GBP.

Yeah 800 Euro is the official price from SE for Germany. But I think our Internet disrupters can do in the first days of release a price about 700 to 750 Euro.

Usually phones start off expensive, but will come down in price once the networks have got the expensive people on and need to sell the phones.

IE, SE T610 cost a lot on contract at first, and only few months later they were giving them away free

Phones2UDirect specialises in early releases, and you tend to pay a premium for them. However, the S700i is darned nearly a smartphone, certainly in hardware terms.

You should see other retailers with the S700i in the next week or two in the UK.

im not surprised, SE took their time to release this phone to build up hype. and hype is what they got. so basically so many people have been waiting for thsi phone they have to buy it now cause its too late to decided what to buy again. but once SE realise that not as many people are buying the phone as they hoped would they will lower the price. just like they did with k700..
