Question k700 - camera noise - how do u stop it?

got a k700i - overall good phone.

however it has a couple of flaws - the main one, and to me some what annoying - when the phone is on silent mode the camera still makes that annoyin cheap clicking sound when u go to take a photo &/or when u use the video recorder.

Does anyone know how to turn this funtion off please?

tis not possible, only the first batch k700s could be turned off cause they had older firmware, the new ones have R2L which basically means u cant turn off yer cam..

I heard that if you switch the phone to 'meeting' mode, the clicking sound can be eliminated, but that was when the K700i first came out, so I dunno if they had fixed this in subsequent firmware upgrades...

if u got FW R2L whatever u do the sound wont turn off unless u do this trick

make a call and then switch to cam and take a pic, there wont be sound..its rather stupid and also cost effecting so not recommended.

Talking

Valin - ur a legend!!

iv turned my phone on meeting - and guess what - no bloody cheap clicking noise when i use the camera.

So now instead of putting my phone on silent mode i put it on meeting (editing the profile to be exactly the same as silent mode). then using the shortcuts edit function on the joystick i swaped the (not much used) mp3 player to 'profile select'. so its just as easy to change profiles from normal to meeting mode as it was to change from normal to silent!

and now like u zalameh1, i can be in the uni library and use the camera knowing it wont draw any attention to myself! pucka!

one las thing though people.

any one clued on up this 'other' folder in file manager? iv got three different videos in this bloody folder and i cant do anyhtin with them. does ANYONE know why they are in this particular folder and how to get them out so i can use them?

cheers

You could also turn the ringvolume to zero and achieve same effect (that's what meeting profile does). This ringvolume/meeting trick works on some but not all phones and FW versions.

On K500 the cam don't make a sount if you have silent mode on. It uses firmwire R2L.
