yea i saw that. rather boring. nothing much done. all hes done is basically installed p910a software into p900. so it reads msdpros. the keyboard cant even be converted. big deal......

I really dont see why SE cant back a replacable KB for existing P900 owners, seeing that its a detachable keypad anyway on existing P900s. Maybe Im missing the big picture about a force upgrade (if you just have to upgrade) I just think it would be a nice option for SE to offer for people who just dont want to drop more money into a half-assed upgrade.

this one wasnt possible to do a kb switch because p910 keyboard pins are different. it does not work. but yea there should be one for p900 but the internal circuitry is different totally so even if u get a p910 keyboard with the same pins it wont work cause the p900 cant handle it hardware wise.

You've got to be kidding me... You're not concerned with the ability to use >128mb cards on your P900? (Assuming you have one; you never made mention of that.) The keyboard is puny and stupid compared to the software upgrades resident in the P910 firmware.

EDIT: Yes, the P910 is a half-assed upgrade as mentioned above but with the announcement of P910 firmware on a P900, that clears up the problem right there! I really think this is a wonderful announcement. I don't have to spend $1,000 to get the updated software. Screw the keyboard... I can use the stylus as it was designed.

yea i guess thats true and i dont own a p900 so i cant argue. but ive never owned a smartphoen so i wouldnt know how much memory u need for programs and such. so i guess having a larger memory will help this out. fair enough then. i mean hopefully the guys converting it for you dont charge too much.

Well, to me as an ex-P900 user. The limitation on memory duo pros wasn't the main thing that bothers me. It's the RAM. 16mb vs 64mb. You guys can't realize how big this difference is. i load in a couple of softwares (around 18 - 20) although into the memory card, it does take up some RAM too internally. I was constantly left with 4mb to 5mb of RAM; this is the most frustrating part; as Symbian's characteristics are same as PPCs --> multitasking. 16mb is really crap on P900. The 128mb+ limitation break is just a bonus.

You wouldn't believe the difference it makes. (Not that I've had it done, I am just speculating.) The biggest problem I had was using my P900 as an MP3 player. I could onlu carry 128mb of data with me, so that meant I was having to transfer files quite often. Now, (or, when I get my P900 flashed) I'll be able to carry more data than I'll be able to use in one sitting. The 512mb cards are out now, but they are kinda expensive. I'll probably buy one 512, plus I already have a 256mb DUO Pro. My point is, I've got a basic PDA, mobile phone and MP3 player (with a decent capacity) in one unit.

I also like the ability of reading HTML-formatted email. I am sick of wading through markup each time I receive an HTML email to find the body of the message. I use my P900 for email and SMS extensively, and this is going to be a welcome addition to my handset.

Haha, well it's coming close to one year, so I think I'll think about it then .

I hope SE does an software upgrade from P900 to P910 to support ms duo pro like something they did for T68 to T68i....anyway does anyone know of flash upgrade P900 to P910 in india.
