Contacts on P900

A question for P900 users,

Can you search your contacts on the P900 in the same way that you can on a Palm?

I mean can you enter a text string and have the P900 search through all the fields in all the contacts in your address book?

Same question also applies to Calendar?

I am about to dump my Tungsten for a P900 but it suddenly occured to me that I use this function nearly every day and I don't want to end up having to carry a larger phone and still carry the Palm as well!

Thanks for your help.

P900 uses a different way which i think it's not as fast as Palm's; but at least its intuitive for 1st timers. Under the contacts page, there are tabs on top each with 3 alphabets representing. So when doing selection, u just have to tap the tabs, once for the first alpha, twice for 2nd and so forth. I really like the way Palm's way of working and navigating with the Graffiti Pad. Very fast and productivity increases by a huge margin as time goes by.

One advice i have to give u is that, you're already used to a Palm's responsiveness and speed. Therefore there aren't Pocket PCs out there or Symbians (which does multitaskings) that could match up to Palms; not to say a Tungsten. But, Multimedia is great on P900; which is something Palm lacks.

Can you search your contacts on the P900

You can search for a string of text in your contacts, by opening the flip of the p900 and using the find function, under the contacts menu. You can search in all Fields or just in Names and Company. You can even search for partial or full phone numbers and the corresponding names will appear. Its quite powerful and fast.

The p900 is still the best in the market you can however wait for the p910. I stopped using my palmV many years ago when I bought the p800. I am currently using the p900 and have ordered for the p910. I should be one the first to take delivery of the p910.

I hope you'll give us all a review when you receive your P910!
