Want to take a K700 in plan, are these costs good in a plan?

Hi. I have a T300, and want to save for a K700. By surprise the K700 came to my country, instead of US . Heh well, this could be my first plan for the K700, and I need your help guys to tell me if this is ok, good or more or less, bad, etc. Well here are the costs:

K700 to take it on plan: $122.64 USD
Then pay monthly $28.03 USD for 12/18 months.
I will have 150 min for talking...To the same carrier 1.00 plus tax. To others 2.60 plus tax and 10 SMS. And insurance on the phone against robbery with violence is about $4.38 USD.

Or the other plan in a different carrier, though don't know the price of the K700 for the plan:
Pay monthly for 12 months $30.57 USD
But I will have 115 for talking...in the day and any cell phones is 3.00. But the nights on weekdays are free, and all-day weekends are free also.(The nights on weekdays start at 10pm.) And I don't know the costs of the SMS, but I think it discount from the available min.

What do you guys think?

Wow, both sound pretty crappy to me for plans. If you make most of your calls at night, i would guess the second one would benefit you more. Or if youre worried about it getting stolen, go for the first one.

It's more complicated than that. Take a look at vonage, tmobile, and o2 in the UK, the way their plans work is really different (expensive for not a lot). Various countries have totaly different wireless plans.

it won't be, for cingular to carry it it would need to be a K700a, but since they've only just now gotten the american version of the t630, I wouldn't hold my breadth

Never ever?

I noticed the T637 was heavily rebated so I was hoping that meant maybe we'd see the K700 before the end of the year. Im looking for a new phone (I have the Nokia 6590i) and wanted the K700 but I might settle for the T637.

oh yeah, back on topic! If you can actually stay within the alloted minutes (I've actually never gone over 100 a month my self, but I don't like talking on the phone all that much), I would says get the plan. That way the phone is gonna cost you like $400 less.

A short lesson in phones and frequency

Here is how it works. The k700's frequncies don't match what cingular uses. So when SE makes a phone for the US, they make an "americas" version. The T637 is the american version of the T630, for example. If you've heard of the S700 (also from SE) they have anounced a S700a, this is an americas version of the phone ("a" for america, get it?). There has not been any announcement of a K700a. Since we just got the T637 in the US, that might explain why.

BUT... Tmobile in the US does things a bit different, it is possible that they could get the K700.

The truth though, is that no one knows when these phones will show up with anyone, it's like voodoo magic.

122.64 USD, then pay monthly $28.03 USD for 12/18 months.

It's gonna be like $459 USD, which is the phone cost unlocked, I don't see where I am gonna get it for 400 USD less.

I don't quite follow your math

The price on ebay lately is about $500 for the phone, which would make $122 (that your talking about) about $400 cheaper.

And since with prepay you still PAY, it would cost you however much you have to pay for the phone, and then you have to pay for your useage.

Unless your prepay works radically different than here, that's gonna cost you at least $80 a year, and you'll end up with like 30 minutes a month.

Well i dunno how much you talk on the phone, but I always use more than 500 minutes a month, but then again, here in the US, you are charged for incoming calls as well. Is it the same in Mexico or no? If you arent charged for incoming, then it sounds like a pretty good deal.

The $122 I have to pay to get the cell phone is an obligation for you to get the cell in a plan, if I want in pre-pay it would cost like $600 USD. I can't pay $122 and get it in pre-pay, is the price for you to get it in a plan.

@Box215
No, we don't get charged for incoming calls.

ah, well that changed my opinion...i think you should go for the contract...$122 is one hell of a price. Saving at least $400
