I'm not sure but it should be doing well. Coz whenever I pass by a Sun shop, there's always tons of customers.

However, Sun still doesn't have much roaming. My aunt went to Europe and there's was no Sun signal. And not yet many cell sites in the provinces either.

i hope they take better care of their customers than the BIG TWO do... it'll be the only way to win market share from them. besides, the market just isn't growing that rapidly anymore...

Unhappy I did not know that

Mmm..... I did not know there was any other Cell comp. in the Pi. I just heard of Smart and Globe. The last time I was there was in Oct of 2001. My wife is Filipino.

I got friends and relatives who are sun subscribers. Besides being cheap, they have nothing nice to say with regards to sun. Signal strength and delivery of sms could use a major improvement.

I think Sun's services will eventually get better in the long run. Same thing with Globe & Smart when they first started out, everyone was pissed coz it's hard to get a signal, delayed sms, etc...

yup but theyd better do it fast or the two giants will crush them. anyway, i think its a market share thingy - like cebu pacific <airline> or robinsons <malls> (same owner by the way), who are ranked only as second or third among the bigger ones like PAL <airline> and SM or Ayala <malls>. mother company is digitel, by the way, who ranks below PLDT/Smart and Globe. the point is, theyre ok once they had their share. problem is if theyd build up the network fast to please the subscribers...

I guess the Gokongweis always like to be 3rd, he he he!!! But they're number 1 in the publishing business (re: Summit Media, #1 overall), but this is another story. I don't wanna get off the topic, he he!!

Well so far, my cousin doesn't encounter any signal problems with Sun (at least in Metro Manila) however, there's definitely no roaming yet coz my aunt brought her Sun line to Europe and there weren't any signals. Luckily, she also brought a Globe line.

hmmm...perhaps sun only has few roaming partners in europe yet...maybe they concentrated on other top pinoy destinations such as US or HK.

very strange things happened twice... my friends who are in Canada and Australia called me up in my mobile phone using their respective local subscribers, but a Sun number registered on my phone (0922...) so I thought they were making fun me and they were in Manila already but apparently they weren't. Before, whenever someone calls me from overseas, no number is registered.

I think perhaps the call is sent to Globe first and then signalled to your phone...who knows...
