Siemens's S56

I am thinking of getting either the Siemens' S56 or the Nokia 6800(both locked by Cingular). The only thing that stop me from chosing the S56 is I don't know where I can get it fully unlocked so that I can use it on Rogers' AT&T in Canada. Is there any way I can unlock the phone along with the GPRS function so that I can use it to browse the internet on Rogers' AT&T??

Also, if I could get it successfully unlocked, will it get locked up again if I flash it with the firmware downloaded from Siemens' site?

If I couldn't unlock it, I have no choice but to choose the Nokia 6800.

Just a quick question, have you thought about alternative phones such as the Sony Ericsson T616, and Siemens SL55/56?

I did.... the T616 is a bit too much for me.... and I heard that T616's RF is only so so....

SL55/56... I don't really like it's design.... so my choice is limited to the 6800 and S56 only.....

Actually, the T616's RF is pretty good. If you read Michaels review, he mentions that the T610 has poor RF, but the T616 is fine. Unlocking a Siemens phone is pretty hard, so if that is your only concern then the Nokia 6800 (or other Nokia Series 40 phones) will be the way to go.

The color is weak. I used to own the s55 and although it was a good phone I didn't like the display at all. I understand it was only 256 colors but I found it to be very blocky. I tried my friends sl55 and he said it was 4,096 colors. Once again the phone itself was solid and performed really nicely but the display was weak. It didn't offer what other phones with a 4,096 color display offered.
