7250 vs. 7250i

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and was hoping to get some expert advice. I am looking to purchase a Nokia 7250 series phone, but I am unsure of the main differences of 7250 and 7250i. I know the 7250 has XHTML and the 7250 doesn't, but I don't know what that means. Can anyone tell me what the major differences are?

Also, since I'm looking to buy one, I was wondering if anyone knew of were I could get a good deal on one. I don't have any contracts with phone companies right now, so any provider is fine. I life in the US and the main providers in my area are AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Cingular. Does anyone know of a good source for me to get this phone?

Thanks,

AsNpCwIz

Rep Bar: Viipottaja has much to be proud of
buy 7250i if the same price

If not, consider if you want to pay the difference for:

- the XHTML browser (makes accessing mobile web services a somewhat better an experience)

- a digital 2x zoom on the camera and some improved picture processing features

- improved group SMS messaging.

I would get the i version although the diffences are not that great.

In terms of service provider I would just try and compare their deals and especially coverage in your area.

I'm not so sure of that.

The 7250 I tested had 5MB of free ram, much more than Nokia advertised for the phone in the specs.

Thanks for the advice guys!!! Someone told me that the 7250 actually has more memory than the 7250i, am I just confused, or do they have it backwards? Have any of you guys ever played with the zoom or the night vision camera on the 7250i? I think that's the only thing that may make me get that instead of its younger version, but I want to know if it's worth it.

The zoom is digital, so it does nothing of any real value.

It just makes each pixel bigger, giving you less actual data for the same dimension image.

You'd be better off doing that in Photoshop or PaintShopPro than using a digital zoom.

Thanks for the advice Michael. You got any ideas of when the Samsung P705 may come out, and possibly the price. I really like Nokias, and I want the 7250. But, if the P705 is really as nice as some say it is, I may check that out too.
