That price can't be right. I just had a look at the link Apocalypso provided (Thanks for that) and the 6600 is listed at 1,999.00 €

No,

It is a price for 2 phones, for one is 999, but its also expensive, I think beacuse they first relase the phone.

Just had another look at the web site and this time I added the phone to the shopping cart to see the price and played around with the quantities and this is what I got (try it for yourselves)
  • 1 phone = 1,999.00 €
  • 2 phones = 3,998.00 €
  • 3 phones = 5,997.00 €

These guys are either dreaming or smoking some serious s**t if they think people are going to pay these prices

1,999 Euro is utterly ridiculous.

Expansys will sell them for $529.65 US dollars.

Here's the link:

Well, a price for pre-order isn't quite the same thing as a price for "now", if Novicom actually has them.

1900 Euros....obviously the webmaster is an idiot. Someone should remind him that the 6600 is a phone and not a laptop.

Ebay had some huge bogus auctions on it a 2-3 weeks back. Some people were using new nicknames and others were using stolen auction id's. I bid on just one to see what happens.AFter that, I used to be bombarded with emails everyday from various places like spain, ireland, portugal, romania(or so the emailers claimed) telling me that they wanted to sell the 6600 for 500 Euros and they they take only a money order or direct bank draft. I wouldn't hear from them again after i would tell them that I was willing to pay upto 700 US$ for the phone, provided we did an escrow.
............till half an houyr later, when someone from finland would email telling me how they saw me bidding on ebay and how they have a better offer for me and how they helpfully take only a money order or wire transfer.

michael - in your experience do you find that the pre-order prices on phones typically go up once the phone actually becomes available for actual sale?

Nope.

But the prices for phones before they are readily available is almost always very high. Supply and demand.

I would expect the Expansys prices to hold for a couple of months, then fall.

whoa!

dang, that's expensive. who in their right minds would sell a cell (hey, that rhymes) for $1000????? you can get a decent laptop for that price. The most i'd EVER pay for a phone would be $650. tops.

$1000? c'mon....
