I got a question. Can the nec 525 be unlocked? Cause I like this phone and want to use it but with t mobile.

when i wanted my phone unlocked "the link" said i got to pay my network some charge, then they unlock it for me. they also said that i have to have been with my network for 12 months, but another phone i got (locked with globe) i got unlocked on the day of purchase so i can use it with o2
