Angry ringtones

I downloaded a couple direct from my phone at a cost of £3 per ringtone and I must say I am NOT impressed.

Firstly you can't sample the tone before you buy.

Secondly the two tones I purchased were extreamly short and did not repeat.

I won't be downloading again.

Best site for MIDIs I find is:

http://www.midibuddy.net

Some very rare ones there and normally excellent quality. Failing that, PM me and I could e-mail across my collection (in total, including compilations not made by me about 25,000).

I use tagtag.com, go there on your home computer first and you can listen to them all and then just remember the code and download it on your phone. It also has colour backgrounds and java games and applications all for free

3 pounds for a ringtone?! Wow, T-zones only charges $.99 here in the states. I know that here if you go to the T-mobile website you can preview the tune and if you want it they'll send it to your phone as a WAP push message.

could anyone of you help me with this issue!!!

I have found some poly ringtones, they are in mp3 format,
but I need to convert them to midi...

I have tested a lot of programs but as they convert it to midi
the tone is not the same... Do U know any simple programs
that just reads the MP3/WAV file and turns it to midi without asking what kind of "program" (acoustic piano, bright acoustic piano, electronic bla bla bla) it should use?

It's impossible to get a good result. MP3's are "sound waves" and midi's are pure digital code. It's two complete different technologies that are built on different principles. A tip! Beatnik use a combination of these two principles and it sounds good too.

There are two forms of MIDI playback available:

Synthesizer: the sounds are synthesized - old technology, similar to MPU401 processors in old PCs, like AdLib sound cards
Wavetable: PCM instrumental sounds are stored and then modulated to different pitches by a processor, Beatnik does this, it sounds a lot better but requires more processor power and time, it's been around for a long-ish time now

nucleo, what MIDIs are you after, I have a lot, may just have what you want. Post requests on the board and I'm sure we'll all do what we can to help out.
