Is anyone waiting to get this phone?

I think that I will...

I'm waiting to get one for review, but I can't say that I see much of a reason to wait for it as a consumer.

Without access to EDGE networks, you might as well get a 7250i.

I agree. The phones are very similar.... However, I noticed a couple of other things that made me interested in this phone.

Differences:
1. it has video recording/playback. (Just a cool feature...)
2. Voice dialing/recording and Voice Commands
3. Enhanced Calander that allows for weekly view (something that I missed on previous series 40 handsets)
4. Wap 2.0 over Wap 1.2.1
5. Presence-enhanced contacts (Not something that I can use)
6. 100k MMS vrs only 45 k
7. Built in Email Client (I think I is the same one as the 6800??)
8. SyncML
9. 16 Polyphonic Ringtones (vrs 4 Polyphonic Ringtones)

I think that about sums it up... I only hope that it gets all the camera enhancements of the "i" version of the 7250. I believe that it does. Not huge differences, but I am going to see what the reveiws are like and make my decision from there.

I agree about presence...but that again is something your provider has to set up with a Nokia Presence Server.

It has video(like 3600/3650/3660/6600/7650).You can record/send video clips over MMS,you do not need EDGE.I am from Serbia, and our operator MOBTEL will not bring EDGE untill end of 2004.

Of course you don't need edge for non-edge functions.

But the real draw of edge is the high speed data. And for that you need the network.

Otherwise it is mostly a 7250i with video, I guess.

But maybe that is enough to be worth waiting for, I wouldn't have thought so, but I did find the video on the GX-20 to be a lot of fun.

Thumbs up

I'd love to get a 6220. If it doesn't have the audio problems of the 6610, I'll get one as soon as they get here to NZ! They look like a COOL phone.

I got it.It is quite cool, but not that much better than 7250i.It does not have X press covers, and I am not sure that they are needed, becouse plastic is very good.Video is fine.Good phone.
