if i switch to cellular one/ dobson can i go on ebay and buy a sidekick and use the sim card i would go t-mobile but they dont offer coverage here and i really want a sidekick? please help me out

U need to get an unlocked sidekick..

And even if you get an unlocked one, you won't have full functionality because only a network that supports the specific Sidekick system so you'd only have voice and text and nothing else.

The Tmo and cing networks are intercompabile, especially as of late with Tmos addition of 850 - however, the functionality, as carcomp said, would be limited, because the data portion is streamed through proxy servers that cingular does not have access, to nor do they have an agreement with Danger Inc (the designer of the platform) to do so.

You are better off with Tmo or another device entirely. Unless, you just want voice and texting, which is sort of a waste of the concept of the sidekick.
