Series 40 / Series 60

Don't know what to think.

Screen looks ok, but what about the buttons.
I think that Nokia need to focus more on more classical phones like the 6230.

But when I look closer to the photo, I think it looks like it could be he new communicator with a large 240X320 screen external and inside a large 640X320 screen.

No, probably it's a follow up for Nokia 3650 with some improved facts. It will probably run on Series 60 and support WCDMA, because I've heard from Nokia executives that more then half of Nokias portfolio late 2004 will be 3G phones.

Can't wait. But why do manufacturers think that people actually like the weird keypads? I would've got the 3650, but I didnt because of it's keypad. I would've got the SX1, but I didn't, because of it's keypad. I would've got the 7600, but I didnt, becuase of it's keypad!! Thank God it's not a 128x128 screen tho

Keypad

I think the keypad looks ok to me because what I can see number 1-9 looks to be placed close to each other.

Te large buttons to the left seems to be the answer button and "the hung up" button.

Nokia Press Release:

"Nokia's leading range of imaging devices together with improving features, such as megapixel cameras for 2004, are driving the imaging strategy"

Could this phone be one of them?

if you look at the latest nokia home page you will see that their main banner is about innovation and subsequently also about fashion...

innovagtion is great and so is fashion, and kudos to nokia for being in the forefront of innovation, fashion, technology and contemporary design... however, there is no need to go over the top, nor is there a need to be outrageous just to be in the forefront of fashion... there are some things that are better served if we leave them as it is...

that is why the wheel is still round, the QWERTY is still around, we still use a spoon for eating, and we love nokia phones with standard keypads.... and FOR GOODNESS SAKE! SOMEBODY OUGHT TO DRIVE THAT IN ALL OF NOKIA'S DESIGNERS!!!

or is it because they want to start another 3650 - 3660 thing!

any1 knows what all these mean:

Actually, I like the design - I usually go for the "comunicator" type phones, but I reall ylike the designs Nokia comes up with - of course if you are old-school, youll just want to keep with the trad... but this is a new era with a younger audience (so to speak) that wants to identify itself with fasion and trendy things like this - It maybe ugly, but you DID notice it. Had it been a trad layout - it would be boring, to that genere they may be trying to capture. It has that "check this out" thing going on with it.

Heavens to megatroith Batman......

The phone posted above is so....so.....so.....uhmmm......unbelievably unattractive.

I'm a loyal nokia user. It's models such as the phone shown above which make me wonder if my next phone should be from a brand other than nokia.

It's as if they're trying to impose their ideas and standards on people to effect change. Social engineering applied to mobile phones??????

Yup. I guess it's adaquately unattractive, though not as ugly as the 7700. Now that's an ugly phone.

Good Screen. I actually find the silhouette of the phone somewhat tolerable. It's the keypad layout of the 7610 that really bugs me.

Who knows, perhaps it won't be as hard to get used to as the 3650 or the 7210. This phone is definitely meant for someone who is not afraid to stand out. I'm definitely NOT one of them.

I'm sincerely hoping that Nokia launches a new business line of phones. They've released more than enough fashion phones. If not, then I'm sticking with the 6600. With the exception of the upcoming 9500, the 6600 is their best phone to date in my opinion.
