Fly 2040 problem

Hi Friends,

I have had a very bad experience with this Fly company. Please do not buy their phones.

This is what had happenend with me-

I had brought a fly phone(2040) a month back(cost me Rs.7900) and found that I was not able to connect with blue tooth with

my computer and the software that helps to sync the mobile with the pc(using the data cable), is not able to see the

phone(though the phone comes up in explorer as a hard drive). And i also found that one of the batteries had a very bad

backup time and used to 'just' last me for a day(while the other batter was ok).

So I took the phone to a service center near my house(I live in Bangalore), and the service engineer in that place said that

he too is not able to do it and that I should take it to the main service center in Bangalore. Then last week, I took the

phone to that service center. Its being done by Accel Frontline. I was given a token and make to wait for 2 and a half

hours(no exageration). There were a large number of customers and there is just a single lady(a pregnant lady) who is

attending to all these people. When my turn came, she very coolely told me that this phone though it has bluetooth would not

connect to the pc with bluetooth as that feature is not there and can only connect to a bluetooth headset(even similar priced

phones like the motorola L7 has connectivity to PC, and its almost a standard freature of all blue tooth mobiles). Then I

explained to her the other 2 problems and she said that she would look into it and took the phone and told me that it would

take one day, and that she would call me up the next day as soon as it was ready. Then she asked me to wait as the phone has

to be inspected 'physically'. And that took another 45 mins. Thus just to give this phone for repair took me all of 5

hours(including my travel).

I got no call from them the next day and so the day after that(2nd day), I tried calling up and found that all the 3 phone

nos that they have given does not work. The lone bsnl no does not exist and for the other 2 airtel nos the incoming calls

have been 'barred'(now what kind of a company is this). So that day I again went there(its a 2 hour up and down journey for

me), again the long waiting(about 30mins) and she tells me to call the next day at 9:30. Meanwhile I tell her that all the 3

phones are not working and she denies that they are not working. When I said this about half a dozen waiting customers too

shout out that what I am telling is true(This service center also services Sony Ericcsson, O2 and Sagem phone, so there was a

large no of waiting cusomers). Then she gives me another no.

I call up again the next day and they put me on hold for 15 mins and finally tell me to call at 2pm. I call again at 2 and

after another long wait(10mins), a lady picks up and asks me the 'tag' no, and immediately after I give it, she just says,

call after 2 days(exactly like in a govt office and even the tone was as rude and as casual). So I ask her how she can tell

me so fast without even checking, she then tells, 'ok, wait', and places me on hold for another 10mins, after which she picks

up and tells that the phone is in observation and that I should call up the next day. By this time I had lost all my patience

and I really got irritated and asked her what was the need for the observation when it has already taken so many days and its

a data connectivity problem with the pc. Then she says that," 'If' the phone has a small problem then its repaired from

Bangalore and 'if' it has a major problem it then goes to the head office in Chennai." By this time I had got totally fed up

and sort of casually asked her then does my phone have a minor or a major problem. Then she again tells the above 'if'

dialog. And after some repeated asking and conversation she 'just like that', as if to get rid of me, says that the phone has

a major problem and has been send to chennai and that I can call her after 2 days and just bangs down the phone.

I am yet to get back my phone.

I only have one advice to all you guys out there. Absolutely do not buy this Fly phone. Its just not worth it. There are too

many better phones out there. I had brought this phone only because of it small size and am regretting real bad.

Warm Regards
Vivek.
