Siemens SX1 review on Infosync

http://www.infosync.no/

Keypad layout, price and battery life seem like the biggest drawbacks.

Thumbs down

I don't agree with the Infosync review. Although the SX1 has everything the (also excellent) Nokia 6600 has, plus stereo FM radio and MP3 capability, Infosync rates the SX1 with a score of 5.6 while the 6600 gets a score of 7.4! Lower battery life for the SX1 cannot by itself justify this difference.

By the way, the score is largely based on subjective opinion: The reviewer gives 4/10 points to the SX1 in the design category. The Nokia 6600 gets 8/10 points. That's absurd! Both designs should get about the same score. Same applies to connectivity scores (7 for SX1, 8 for 6600). Did the reviewer forget that the SX1 has all the ports found in the 6600 and also includes the usb cable in the package? The specifications category is also a puzzle (5 for SX1, 7 for 6600). Why? We are basically talking about two very similar phones based on the same platform! In the software category we have a tie (8 for both). Has the reviewer seen all the FREE software available for the SX1 on the Siemens homepage? Finally, in the value category, the SX1 gets 4 points while the 6600 6 points. In my home country, the SX1 (518 euros) costs less than 20 euros more than the 6600 (499 euros) so the difference is negligable.

Now lets get serious. Both phones are top-of-the-line. The SX1 is in my opinion more stylish and looks more expensive. However, the screen on the 6600 is a bit brighter. Both phones have about the same capabilities except that the SX1 also supports stereo FM radio and mp3 player. Battery life is better on the 6600. Finally, the 6600 includes an MMC card while the SX1 includes the usb cable.

That's all folks, make up your own minds! Hopefully, we will see more objective reviews from Infosync in the future...
