Smartphone 2002 v 2003

This is an appeal to any users of Smartphones running either 2002 or 2003.
I'm gonna swith soon to a smartphone (I think) but I've read so many conflicting reviews that I'd like to here from front end users - those that have used the handsets "in active service".
At the moment, I am looking drawn to either the MPX200 or the SPV e200.
The smaller form factor of the Motorola is very appealing - and having tried it out in store, seem reasonably happy, although it does seem a little slow ?
The SPV is a little larger - going backwards as far as size is concerned - but then again it is more than just a phone.
The thing about the PSV is however - I can only get good vibes about it from those that work in local Orange stores - the Carphone Warehouse are not very complimentary about it at all.

To this end I'd like to here from users - those that have formed an opinion from actual usage of the handsets.
