siemens s55 speed

Michael has reviewed the siemens sl55 as having speed problems (i.e slow menu, loading etc.).

What about s55? does it have speed problems like the sl55 or t68i? what about java performance? is the speed good enough? and how does it compare to other mobile phones in terms of speed?

thanks

There is no reason to believe that there would be any difference between a SL55 and a SL56.

There is reason to believe that they could be faster now due to firmware upgrades. This happened with the T68i, for example. I'm not saying this is the case, only that it is possible. I have not used a SL5x in many months.

I meant S55 versus SL55. sorry, I should have put the letters S in caps otherwise it is difficult to make out.

Sorry, missed that.

I don't recall a problem with the S55 at all, but I haven't used mine in quite some time. On the way to the airport for CES in Vegas now, so I can't check.

The SL55 is quite a bit faster from the S55, from what I remember. I reviewed the S55 a while back so my memory may be a little fuzzy...

I have both phones. The S55 is about 2-3 times faster when viewing images such as .bmp and .gifs. The overall menu response is slightly faster and java does load a bit quicker.

I guess its down to the SL55 displaying 16x the amount of colours onscreen compared to the S55. Both great little phones.
I use the SL55 most of the time, and the S55 if I need to use Bluetooth with my Powerbook. I have to say the SL55 isn't unbearably slow, its still much faster than the Sl45 I have.

Kop.

my sl55 is faster than my old s55. had to get rid of the 's' cause of that nasty texting (missing characters and all that!)
id say def go for the 'sl' as its a cracking little phone. unless that is you want blue tooth.
they are both quicker than my t68 though

the sl is that good that is making it very hard for me to find a good smart phone upgrade
