I like the SL55 better than the S55 except for the lack of Bluetooth.

The display is run of the mill. Not the best 4k color display I have seen, to be sure.

But I liked the keypad quite a lot, actually.

The keypad looks nice, but I found the buttons to have horrible tactility. The alphanumerical keys have too much depth, while the softkeys and 4-way scroll key are too stiff.

I was a huge SL45 fan and I have to say the SL55 is a big disappointment to me.

Poor quality display, small memory (1.6 v 32 MB on the SL45) and incredibly slow opening Java apps..

Siemens seem to be way behind SonyEricsson and Nokia.

The SL55 is horrid! I got to test one at work before it came out and the first thing that went wrong was after 2 hours when the slide broke and you couldn't open it any more. We had to force it open and re-seat the clips that hold it together!

The buttons feel awful for anyone with large hands and the whole thing in general comes across as cheap and nasty! (personal opinion obviously, but one that is shared by pretty much everyone here at work)

The display is disgusting, the colours are washed out and bland, and the graphics are 3rd rate.

Siemens are a very long way behind nokia and SE but hopefully they can't get much worse than this one!

Oh yes, I almost forgot the radio performance of the phone is dismal too.

I had no such problems.

The 1900Mhz radio reception was very good.

The buttons were comfortable for me, and my hands are reasonably large (I'm 6'4"/194cm).

I could see how the slider mechanism could be a potential weak spot, just as it can be with any moving part, but I had no problems and saw no sign of impending problems.
