As far as I'm concerned, nothing compares to a Siemens. I have three myself, and they are some of the best phones I have owned. They are easy to use and packed with features, and have special features that few other mobiles have. And they are very, very reliable.
If you buy an Asian-spec Siemens, it will come with Chinese support.
1.2MB is fine for normal phones, generous even, but poor in camera phones. The ST55 has 1.2MB of memory, but that is for pictures only, it has around 5MB total.
You can read a good review of the ST55 here.

eh, well personally im not a huge fan of siemens. but i only have one of their phones, the C35i. it was a good fone, tho the battery was worst thing. i wouldve used it regulary, if it lasted for the day. the signal was horrible. games were good tho
