Initial thought: WTF?
scrolled down to see the actual photo of the thing in question then thought: WTF?!?! But its not so bad really. At least there's a normal number arrangement possible. It definately makes the p990 look nicer. |

I thought that keypad was dumb untill I read Jose's post, now I can see the plus side of having a normal number pad in the middle.

Update. A possible name will be SE P970, but it can be changed. The device is powered by Symbian 9.1 (UIQ 3.0) and represents a simplified version of Sony Ericsson P990. The phone is focused on the corporate sector, it has no camera, as in many companies they forbid using camera phones for the sake of security. It was possible to add a QWERTY-keyboard due to the combination of several symbols on ordinary digital keys. Currently the model is scheduled to be released in 3Q 2006, evidently it will come out not earlier than September. The price will make up €450-500, taxes included, SIM free.
.... I think that this is SE's answer to the "business type" nokia E61. No camera, large screen, qwerty... it looks to be a contender for a business or executive phone. cheers! |
