Hi everybody, i'm new to this board and i really would need advice on some of the folowing ohones that i'm thinking of getting in the near future.
1 - Sony Erriccson C902 (slim phone, 5 megapxel camera) 2 - Sony Erriccson C905 (big bulky slide-up phone, 8 meg-pixel camera) 3 - Sony Erricsson W995 (new phone, 8 mega-pixel camera) 4 - Nokia N95 (original one) silver phone 5 - Nokia N95 8GB (slightly newer version, black colour, 8 giga-bite internal memory) I've read alot of very bad reviews about the Sony Erriccson C905 (the one with the big 8 megapixel camera), and that is the one i was really thinking of buying, even though its very expensive, costs 400 euro but i thought it would be worth it only if its a very good phone, and the massive size camera is what really attracrs me to it. But alot of the reviews i've read about this phone have been bad, and nearly all with the same or very similar problems - that the speaker goes on it, that you can't hear people on it but only if you use the Loudspeaker, this seems to happen after about 3 or 4 weeks. Also the battery life doesn't seem to be all that good either. I was really thinking of buying this phone but i am not going to buy it if it is as bad as people say. If anyone knows much about it then please tell me. The other one, the Sony Err C902 (slim phone with 5 mega pixel camera) seems to be a better phone, with not many complaints. There have been a couple of complaints the same as the C905 saying that the speaker gives up on it a few weeks after buying it, but only a couple of people have said that. (is this a common problem with Sony Err phones??). There have been a few similar complaints about this phone though, saying that the phone dies during the middle of a conversation, even though the battery is fully charged. And reports of the battery life say thats its got a good length, that it goes 3 or 4 days without charging it even if it has been used alot. Then there's this new phone which i've only seen in the last week, Sony Erriccson W995. It too has an 8 mega pixel camera and a fairly big screen. As its only a very new phone i don't know much about it. If anyone on here know's about it please inform me. The (Original N95, silver colour) seems to be a generally very good phone, with all the latest featres, including a 5 megapixel camera. Some people have said that the battery life is poor on it, and other people have said that it is very good, that it can go 3 to 4 days without needing to be charged, even if it is being used alot. I prefer this phone over the black N95 8GB version for a few reasons, 1st is that it has a memory card, so if anything ever happened to the phone, you could keep all you songs, videos and pictures etc tucked away safely in your memory card which could be put into another phone and used again, but on the 8GB version there is no memery card slot, there is a huge 8 gigabite internal memory on the phone, and so if anything ever happened the phone then all your video's and pictures and songs could well be lost, as there is no memory card to back it up, unlike the silver original version. 2nd is the fact that it has a little 'open and shut' cover over the lense for the camera at the back of the phone, to prevent the lense getting dirty or damaged, but the black N95 8gb version doesn't have this, and 3rd- i just think the silver looks lot better on the phone than the black does but thats just my opinion. I like the 8GB version because it does have a slightly larger screen than the silver one, but i would honestly prefer the silver one over the black one. But i know some people who have the 8GB black version N95 and they love it, saying that its a great phone, and some have said that there's a longer batter life in the N95 black 8GB phone than in the original silver phone, and that is particularly what i am looking for. I need a good phone, prefferably one of the phone's i've asked about above, but i want to know which of the phone;s has the longest battery life especially if it is to be used alot. And also which of them is the most reliable and won't let me down. The silver Original Nokia N95 and the Sony Erriccson C902 seem to be the better of the 5 i've mentioned, but my favourite would be the Sony Erriccson C905 would be my favourite, it and the Original Silver N95, but judging by alot of the reviews i've heard about the Sony Err C905 i don't think i'll be getting it if its as bad as people say and thats a shame, and its alot of money and too big a risk to take if something goes wrong with it. I currently have a Nokia N73 which i got in May last year, so its now 14 months old, and i absolutely love it, really beautiful phone and it does everything i want it to, except for one fairly big reason, the battery life on it is crap. I have to charge it every night even after its being fully charged the night before, but thats if i use it alot which i do. But in the past few weeks i've tried to cut down a bit on using it too much and i'm getting away with charging it every 2nd night, but it won't make it any further than that. It might make it for a few hours during the following day but it wouldn't last throughout the full day so it needs to be charged every 2nd night if not every night. It tends to be very slow alot of the time and often dies down on me, particularly if i use it too fast (like if i text a bit too fast on it) or if i am in the middle of taking some phonto's, if i get to take the 5th or 6th photo, the phone wil freeze for several minutes, so i just have to turn it off for about 30 or 40 seconds then turn it back on again. Its annoying doing that but i've got used to it now and its not as bad as the bad battery life it has. I carry an extra battery with me now from an old phone to put into this one incase it dies while i'm out. And alot of days i'd be away from home from 5am in the morning till 10 or 11pm at night, and during that time i'd be listening to the radio and music on it alot, and also doing a good lot of texting and maybe a couple of phonecalls, and that is when i'd particularly need the extra battery as there is not a chance that it woould make it throught the whole day on just the full power of one battery. I'd have the radio/music on it from about 6.30am ish up to about 10am, then from about 6.30pm in the evening until 10pm or 11pm at night, but wouldn't usually be listening to it in the afternon, just a bit of texting Its a really lovely phone and that is the only major problem i have with it to be honest, and i think for a phone like that it should have a better battery life than that, even hough it does have many features and the fact that i use them alot, it should be a bit better. I've never had a Sony Err phone, always Nokia's, but Sony Err phones all do seem to have very good battery life on them so i've heard, and even if it is to be used as much as i use it you would still have lots of power left in it. Sorry for going on and on about all this but i really need as much help and advice, good and bad, about all the phone's i've asked about. Thanks so much to everybody in advance. |
