I'd like to point out that, contrary to what the reviewer said, the Nokia 3230's memory card slot is not located under the battery - it is located next to it, and it is hot-swappable!
If you begin to open the battery cover while the phone is on, it will automatically prompt you if you want to close open applications and swap memory cards. Then you can simply lift up the memory card holder, swap, and you're good to go.
You do have to open the battery cover and close open applications. But you just choose "yes" - that's it. You don't have to remove the battery or restart the phone.

Is it possible to use the bigger BL-5C or even the BL-6C batteries in place of the tiny BL-4C?
Also can someone clarify the whole mono/stereo thing? I heard that if you use a third party MP3 player app, it can take advantage of the 3230's unused stereo hardware...can someone verify this??

Opening a battery cover, or that "No need of switching off a phone"
Doesn't make it Hot-Swappable either.
Hot Swapp means something like 6630. :)

No, hot-swappable simply means taht you don't have to turn off the device to swap it.
The 3230 is hot-swappable.
The implementation in the 6630 (and others) is much nicer, though.

well.... it does save alot of trouble for (not shutting off the phone .... thank god~) but which idiot starts all this? when phones started to come in to the trend with memory card slots.... all were hot-swappable, why under the hood? i'll stick to my definition for the time being. :) Hot Swapp.
