Those of you who love series 60 and have used the nokia 6630/6680 will know how useful it is to be able to assign short cuts to the directional pad. (I think the sx1 could do this as well).

Does anyone know any software that enable you to do this on otherr series 60 phones? i remember having something like this along time ago on my 3650 but i cant remember the name of it or find any trace of it on my PC.

If anyone knows give us a clue as im sure a lot of users of older symbian phones would find a program like this extremely useful.

No only on the newer symbian fones like the 6630 and 6680 have the option. Even the 7610 doesnt have the option in the settings and that only came out in July 04.

I think jtntwozz is right, but maybe a firmware upgrade will sort it out. Get the latest version on your phone.

What version do you have now & what phone ?

Well the phone I am looking to put it on is the panasonic x800. But I dont think a firmwaere upgrade will help. Its like some symbian fones let you save message on the mmc and some dont. I think its depentdant on the verson of series 60 on the fone.

Its okay I found it. It was a program called task manager by psiloc it lets you set shortcuts to apps for up,down, left and right on the joypad. pretty cool

I'm using a trial at the mo as the one I had on my pc says the app has expired. On its own Ive found it doesnt work very well. The short cuts only work a few times then they dont respond. But I also installed sysman which lets u assign app short cuts to your keypad and used together with task manager they both work a treat and the phone almost feels like its using the newer symbian os ala 6630/6680. I downloaded both from handango.

Which apps let you put your S60 into offline/flight mode, even if its OS version doesn't have it? Isn't it FExplorer?
