Ordered a K750i upgrade through 02 at the back end of last week. Almost immediately I got an email saying it was out of stock.

I called them on Monday to ask when the new stock arrives and was told that it would be Wednesday or Thursday this week so I should have the phone early next week.

Called yesterday to make sure the stock was in and was told that SE have asked 02 to stop selling the K750i and wait for 2-3 weeks until they send a new bath of fixed phones.

They gave me a better deal as I said I'll just cancel the order but it means waiting for at least 3 weeks for my (albeit fully working) phone :(

Not sure if SE have done a national recall but they have definetely asked 02 to send all their K750i phones back.

Was told the same thing by a guy in the 02 shop in Cardiff, he's expecting a shipment of handsets with updated firmware on the 20th. It's because of the bug that kept making the phone freeze when it went into the screen-saver mode.

It seems that most of these crashes on standby are all from O2?! Maybe O2 did something to the phones?!

I've not read a complaint from Asia.

I dont think that that's true. Some of the k750 owners in Esato own a non-branded k750 - yet theirs still freezes and hangs. Sometimes the only way to reset it is to remove the battery - which some are complaining of too, coz the battery cover is "hard to remove", they said.

hmm was it a problem with those crappy specially made-to-order firmwares for carriers!?

For all its worth, i have used the k750i for a week now (unbranded, f/w : CHINA_RL_R1A044, APAC_1 region, i got this from software info on the phone, code : >*<<*<*) and no freeze/crash, virtually no glitch at all.

The only thing that bugged me is that I cannot search the contact list with multiple character. The phone user's manual indicate that it could, without specifying how to do it.

Yeah no crashes here, I bought it on o2 but I got a sim free, which is lovely. No crashes either bt or standby.

i got the vodafone K750i last week. i haven't had any standby crashes although twice when zooming on pics during slideshow it froze up for a minute before coming right. also last night i tried downloading Tetris from the Vodafone Live site and the phone said not allowed to save file or something like that. I called Vodafone who said that others have had the same problem. apparently Vodafone are going to text me back when they figure out what the problem is. i'm sure a firmware upgrade will fix these hiccups.

but that said so far i'm very impressed with it generally. i've been waiting for bloody ages for a phone like this.

MP3 audio quality is top notch and just got a 1GB duo pro card today, wicked.

sorry nokia, i'm returning to sonyericsson after 2yrs. it was nice while it lasted.

On teh european FW version you don't have to do anything particular. Just type 'M', 'i', 'c', 'k' and it finds Mick. Your problem may be related to the chinese FW version.
