I've just bought my K750i *R1A021*
The problem I have is that it appears to have Orange firmware (Orange world, Orange Dowload menus etc... The Main Menu also appears to be Orange.
I there any way I can upgrade the firmware so that it uses the standard SE menus/logo's etc..?
Regards

you can get SE to do it for you, or your local cable-unlocking bloke. both will charge, SE will be safer but the cable bloke will be quicker

Saw one in the Orange shop on Tuesday, can't believe Orange have butchered the firmware on it! The main menu looks terrible! Why couldn't they just leave well enough alone?

haven't had a look at an orange one yet.
what's up with it, have they changed the options or just the theme?

It seems orange have got quite into 'butchering' handsets, and standardising all the icons. So far I've seen it on the a Nokia 3230 and my Samsung D500. My friend with the Nokia has had all sorts of problem and just wants the normal firmware, but Nokia Service Centres have been told they are not allowed to install it.

My advice is, if possible never buy a branded phone unless you can remove it. I have the 6630 which was on Vodafone, but now it's unlocked and I deranded it myself as Nokia will only put Vodafone firmware back on the phone when the up-grade the firmware.

The one I saw had a complete Orange theme, and all the icons on the main menu had been changed as well and they were truly awful, very basic in design! It has seriously put me off considering getting the phone on Orange! (I'm in two minds whether to stick with 02 or go back to Orange)
