What review? We have only done a preview so far. We don't have the phone available for testing yet.

Personally, I'd rather stab my eyes out than have the t720. ick ick ick.

But anyway, the X1 apparently isn't that bad. It's not got all that much memory but it's basically a Samsung with a different hat on which isn't all that bad.

The t720 is horrible - we've had a fair few complaints and returns back to us; from the short personal experience I had with it, it was a bit rubbish.

I like the T720, and use a T730 (same thing, CDMA) currently.

It isn't a new design, though, like the X1.

The only complaint I have is the battery life. Otherwise it's just fine.

According to O2 the X1 can save 100 high res pics so it cant have 2 smal of a memory .

I think it has 4MB.

I had an X1, but I wasn't impressed.

It has a nice screen and camera, but reception was erratic. No support for it at the moment and lacks connectivity.

I returned it and got an SE Z600, which I am very happy with.

Please please PLEASE do not get the X1.

I wouldn't want someone on this board to have to suffer the pain. I'm at work at the moment and am able to play with one - it smells so badly.

They have even managed to get the softkeys screwed up. Instead of being at the top of the main d-pad (as you might expect) they are actually the green and red phone buttons (at the BOTTOM of the dial) - very counter intuitive.

The games are terrible, the UI is nasty, it looks tacky and the keypad is very crunched up.

It's slower than any phone I have ever seen in saving pictures or video and the games take an age to load.

Avoid like the plague. -1/10.

i dont understand what u mean by the soft keys are at the bottom?

and u seem to be the only person ive talked to who gave it a super bad review.

Okay, the top of the phones keypad is a circle with two buttons above and two below.

Kinda like this

- - (1)
O (2)
- - (3)

You'd expect the hotkeys to be on row (1) but actually they are on (3) - not what I'd expect.

I've got an X1 sat on the desk next to me - it's hateful. You'll regret getting it.

Sorry, that picture didn't work.. Take a look at the preview picture on the main site - the softkeys are actually the green and red phone buttons. It's horrible and counterintuitive.

The rest of the phone isn't much good.

Good question. It does SUPPORT it, but thats no guarnatee that it will be released anytime soon. Sadly due to the size of the port at the bottom of the phone similar cables will not work.

Try, for the time being, to see if you can get hold of a Maxon cable. They make they phone, they should be able to work. Failing that, try a retail shop - we aren't always aware of the accessories available.

The theory is that we support the V600 (backing a losing horse to vodas v525, I predict) and the date it is released keeps moving back. The latest internal release date is 08/12 - it's worth bearing in mind this was until recently 01/12 so I would be cautious about believing it.

About the X1 - before you buy it, make sure the retailer will give you a 14 day money back guarantee and accept the phone back even if there is no faults.

Thanks Mate.

What O2 phone would your suggest with the same kinda features as the x1 and around the same price?

( i thought it was sharp that made the phone? but i had heard maxon somewhere?)

Sharp actually made the last O2 phone, the GX1 (not a whole heap of difference in the names) - they also made Voda's leading sellers, the GX10, GX10i and GX20.

It seems that O2 are quite talented in picking rubbish phones - but then again I hear the XDA & XDAII are winners.

I can heartily recommend the Z600. It's the phone I'm getting - I've given up on the V600. If money was not a factor, I'd probably get a P900 but that's sheer fantasy. You should be able to get the Z600 for the same price or less than the X1.

Just FYI, I was at first put off by the small outer screen on the Z600 - having tested it I can say it has all the features you need by tapping the volume buttons.

The O2 X1 is a Maxon MX-A30. I didn't get much luck out of Maxon when I asked about accessories.

I also recommend the Z600. I just got one as a replacement to the X1. It is an excellent phone.

I am realy interested in getting the z600, and have heard a lot of positive reviews about it. The O2 X1 may not be as good but it retails at around £160 on pay as you go. the z600 is more around £280.
