Ellen looks like an interesting device, but Eldar doesn't make it clear whether it has a 1.3 MP or a VGA camera - he mentions them both! Anyone know for definite?

A quirky design, that's for sure. Looks like it swivels like the S700, but also works like a slider as well? Interesting!

Zoe is a very nice looking clamshell, a shame it's a low-end model :)

ellen's a 1.3MP. But i guess it would be that of Z800's module, not the excellent S700's. :)

Yeah you're probably right, Ellen is supposed to be a lot smaller than the S700 isn't it so the S700's module was probably too big for the form-factor.

Not another bunch of new phones. I wanna buy the K750i but now Ellen comes along... argh! :( It'll be great if Ellen is much smaller than the S700i but it should has at least a 2-megapixel camera:)

i wouldn't worry about that; get the k750 and see if you regret it when ellen comes out. i don't think you will.

i dun think so cos it's supposed to be a mid end model, replacing maybe the T630, or something to go by with replacing K700 but placed in the S-form factors. Regarding K750, i do think that phones with higher specs cannot reside on a candybar anymore, a pic taken with a 2MP resolution (for the sake of having the highest quality...) can only be viewed from a 176x220 screen? i might as well take the pic using a 176x220 screen then.... i mean, phones with real good photo taking capabilities should end up in a more complex form factor to allow good utilization of the screen (video taking, games and such) Yupe, SE should come out with a S700 replacement, using K750's specs but with S700's screen size and form factor, maybe a slider for convienience and practicality. :)

you're probably right.

i do like my candybars though, never got my head around clams. sliders are nice though, i've liked the look of them since the 7650, but only ever bought one, a d500, just to see what it was like. crap OS so i sold it again the next week.

nowt wrong with the form factor though.

This phone does look pretty cool......Simple ,Sober and Rocking design from SE as always !!!! But is very similar to one of the Siemens phones though....

Just because a phone doesn't offer what you want in a phone, doesn't make it stupid.

It's not meant to be an upgrade to S700i - it's a youth gaming phone with exchangeable covers. The S700i (when it was released, and possibly still), was a premium phone that was focussed on camera features. OK, I understand that it has the rotating formfactor and a 1.3MP camera in common with S700i, but the similarities really end there. I actually doubt it will even have the same camera module as S700i, I expect it will use the V800/Z800i camera module, or something more along those lines.

A 1.3MP camera can now be considered as a feature for mid-range phones with the emergence of 2.0MP cameraphones.

There is a phone coming from SE that can, I suppose, be considered to be an upgrade to S700i - this isn't it. I expect you got mislead by incorrect pre-release information that gave you the impression that this was the S700i successor?

This may not be what you see as the perfect phone, but that won't stop other people with different interests from buying it.

For one, they aren't photos. They are drawings.

And to me it looks like a premini, a line of phones they make for Japan. I can't say one way or the other if the device exists or not, or whether or not it is a GSM device. I can say that you guys are probably wasting your time talking about it at this point.

I've seen way too many "artist's renderings" get put forward as being real for me to put any credence in them. Especially since the other sites are claiming a June release. Typically the developers and networks and such would have had prototypes of the SE devices by now for a June release, and we'd be seeing real photos - not drawings.

That wasn't the case with Karin and Kristina (J300i and K300i respectively). Obviously the safe option is to be cynical until the Press Release from SE, but I have had info from some sources that suggests otherwise.

i admit i was a lil harsh wiht my comment but this whole zoe ellen thing was hyped up so much, everyone speculated high specs and such and suddenly we get this.. im just disappointed.

A music phone that was once thought to be a smartphone by many, two smartphones, some more walkman phones, others with strange codenames, and one other with an even more intriguing production name (yes production, not code).

Expect to see better cameras, emphasis on gaming and/or music, and better connectivity in future handsets.

All in June? Almost definitely not. By the end of the year? Probably. ;)
