wow. its been a while till one of these came up. :|

Better as in what Mohsen?
Better camera...Better for you?

If you tell us why you picked those two, what your needs are in a phone, would be more helpful.

Camera wise the 7610 is better. (no doubt about it - see comparison photos)
Price wise the 7610 is better. (its an older model, so price would be lower)
Key pad wise the 3230 is better (but this is subject really to people's opinions)

and style wise, 3230 is better.

in many other ways, they're just the same. but i wouldn't really recommend either given the alternatives

you really mean that?

Out of the two - i think the 7610 design is better. Not cos I own one, but because it just seems to be more stylish.

well it's obviously a matter of taste, i just don't like the weird button layout, think it looks a bit daft, and likewise the mirrored bit on the back, on the 7610. 3230 is obviously a newer design and i'm a sucker for new stuff, different from what everyone has already got.

i'm probably in the minority on this one though

at the same time i'd be the first to admit the 3230 was a bit disappointing, i'd been expecting something pretty special; i wouldn't buy one myself, although i thought about it when the specs were first released

yes you're certainly right!

The button layout of the 7610 is wierd. The 1. button is in the middle where the 2 should be. But you'll get used to it.

When my friends try to use it theyre like.."oh wheres the 1?"

The 3230 might seem disappointing because it wasnt meant to wow people. It was there for the "fun" market, to allow people to have a taste of the new s60 at an affordable price. at vga levels the camera (compared with 6630/7610/7710) very disappointing.

if i'd taken into account its numerical proximity to the 3220, maybe i'd have realised it wasn't going to light up the world

um, in a 7610 - can you use the MMC as your primary text message storage? Coz on the 3230 - you cant. (aside from resorting to 3rd party apps)

cheers!

wow i didnt know that!

I may have said it before, but there is so much junk in my inbox (its like 12mb - pictures - videos) im glad its saving to mmc instead of making me manually save to mmc.

I like having the messages on the phone cause then it's always there even if I take the MMC out...also when I backup the phone memory, it's also saved:D If you absolutely need EDGE and Visual FM, get the 3230...otherwise, 7610 is your best bet:cool:

BTW, does the 3230 have a document viewer? I know the 7610 doesn't, but every S60 has had one...does the 3230 follow suit?

backup memory has never been reliable for me so incase my phone goes doolally again, id rather have the important documents on the card.:D

im really torn in buying either 1 of this 2 phones.. can you narrow up their strengths and weaknesses??

Well...you could just read the entire thread...which is only 14 messages long not including yours:rolleyes:

But since I'm nice:

7610: (+) fashion phone, more balanced weight distribution?
(-) fashion phone, weird keypad layout (if you're particular about that), no radio
3230: (+) EDGE, Visual FM, more conservative design
(-) "top-heavy phone," inconvenient button placement
BOTH: (+) S60, MP3 player, good camera
(-) mono sound, could get better camera

In short, for a little more, you could get the 6630 and you wouldn't have to deal with mono sound and you'd get an even better camera...plus you'd have UMTS:D The thing is, you'd have to deal with Dual Voltage cards and the need for the video stand to do video conferencing, but seeing as how you're choosing between the 3230 and 7610 you wouldn't have to worry about that last one...

another dealbreaker for me is a bug in the 3230... like you hear an "error sound?" or 'beep' before the ringtone sounds. (when you recieve a call.) But it could be that the one I used had the old firmware - fortunately, I think a newer one is out now.

cheers!
