Been waiting for this phone for ages now so I gave Sony Ericsson (UK) a call.
They said that the official release date for the W800i is the end of July. Therefore the phone companies should start selling them on contracts sometime in August. But officially you can buy a SIM free W800i sometime in July.
Oh well, only 3 more months to wait!

hlo, any idea when will it be released in south east asia?
This makes me think against the k750 as I dont seem to be able to get it payg, this means w800 I prefer it over the k750 hands down, even looks, just I wasnt willing to wait, seems I am going to anyway. So w800 unless I get k750 pay prior.

All personal preference of course. I was tempted to wait around for the W800i but... I have an iPod for my music, so the extra music features of the W800i don't really matter to me.
As for looks... I had a look at the D750i today in the shops (it's the T-Mobile variant of the K750i) and it looks really similar to the pics I've seen of the W800i. Same sort of dotted-effect on the front of the handset, same plasticky bits around the camera lens. Honestly, I thought the W800i looked great when i saw it online (if a bit "young looking" - aimed at the sort of folk who bought Crazy Frog perhaps) but having looked at the D750i, I think it looks a bit cheap. And looks slightly more chunky than the K750i, I'm not sure why.
The K750i is pretty inoffensive in terms of style... except perhaps for the flimsy battery cover and the ugly sliding lens cover complete with "futuristic font" etc. In the end that's what I went for. I feel too old to have an orange and silver mobile phone :)
