hey dudes, my aunt and uncle are going 2 singapore soon, and i was wondering how much is the average price of an ipod mini, and the average price of a PSP so they could buy one for my dad as my dad needs to get my brothers some birthday presents. thanks in advance guys

oh, coming huh?~ they could also take a trip up to Malaysia perhaps? not sure bout others but i saw a PSP retailing for less than RM900 today in Sungei Wang, a seriously popular mall in KL. That makes it less than 120pounds.

do not get mp3 players and psp in singapore, ive checked prices even australia is cheaper for both here(if you look on ebay.com.au) even not on ebay aus is slightly cheaper.

yea.. singapore is the best place for electronics in SE asia and the region.. the ipod mini is around S$350(not TOO sure), sony PSP is S$455 with value pack(VERY SURE ABOUT THIS). malaysia is more expensive than singapore due to the higher tax.. if u have any qtns about singapore i can help u..

dude, trust me, ive been to both US and 90% of asia. asia is still cheaper. just like you have a chinatown where there is cheap stuff we have sources that are even cheaper. its the exchange rate that does this in.

johor is the bomb :D. my dad knows one of the ministers so when we were there we were cruising around in his rolce royce. was awesome. but we were there for like a coupla days

PSP value pack is 455 SGD w/o any games. Games run from 59 to 89 SGD. The dumb thing is that all the "official" games from the Sony stores are all in Japanese. When I asked them if any coming games will be in English, they said no.

You also get a refund on the GST when you leave Singapore if the retailer participates in the refund program. As long as your purchase is over $100 SGD, you can usually claim it. They just have to show it at the airport.

A story in the Straits Times said that H.K. is the cheapest place to buy electronics/computers and Singapore is second. But Singapore is the best overall shoping place in Asia.
