The K750 is out here in the US on preorder, but of course it's online...

Heh... while I'm always skeptical about any preorders for just-released handsets, I preordered this handset from them seriously about 10 minutes after they began taking them.

The reason being, that my last 5 handsets have come from them, and I've only had only good experiences. They don't commonly preorder much (like most sites do regardless of if they'll ever carry it), but am confident I'll get my phone exactly when they say. I wasn't going to order this phone until they carried it.

Sweet!

I think that this is an good move by SE. If they can release the K750 earlier than the first of the nokias N-series - they're assured of high sales, right?

cheers!

Yeah, if there are a lot of other people that're as impatient as AndrewSMcD:p

difenbaker,

Concidering the price, Nokia N- series are not ment to sell in high volumes. So even after their release they will not be a threat to K750/W800. Otherwise, even N6230i would be smoked and I don't think that was the intention in the first place.

That's very good insight...all the hype about the Nseries made us forget the 6230i:p

hi there arne,

yup, that's true. And they're not even in the same class actually, one bunch are smartphones and the other one is not, so there would be obvious price differences.

still..... I am banking on the fact that nokias go down in price faster than the SE's, it is because of this, that we might expect a time - that the price of the N-series might not be far off from the K750/W800 of SE. If and when that happens... then we'll see which ones would sell in high volumes.

cheers!

ps. I still think that it's a good move by SE to bring out the K750 earlier, it would at least put 2mp class phones into the mainstream quickly.

I think that the 6230i is doing very well on its own. (even without the hype :D) Most 6230 owners I know are all replacing their phones with it.

(sorry for being OT) :)

N90&N91 will be around 1000 USD while K750/W800 will be around 500 USD (info from various reviews/previous). Nokia prices may fall faster. But I highly doubt they will fall 500 USD or more just in a couple of month.

Concidering the release dates, N90/K750 Q2, N70/W800 Q3 and finaly N91 Q4, I doubt any of the Nokia phones will be near K750/W800 price wise by the end of this year IMO. ;)

yeah, the N-series will be expensive; for a phone.

compared to a phone, a 2MP digital camera and an ipod, though, it's not extortionate. i think a surprising amount of people want all this stuff in one place and will be prepared to pay for it.

either way you look at it, the w800 and the N-series are surely both destined to be pretty good sellers, they're just too good not to be

nokia should market the n series well though, cos unless people hear about it, it wont take off as quickly as it could.

In uk, even though ipod is hugely big, it only just started getting really popular. (even though theyve been here since how long??) Since christmas every 10th person (between 11-25 approx) has one..before that nada. most of them think that the ipod is the only mp3 player about, and freak when they hear theres more than one type of ipod.

I havent seen a decent advert from nokia in ages. The last was the x-factor ones - for the few months they were on tv, they help blow up sales for the phones they were selling, cos everyone was going "ooh - the xfactor phone - ooh thats simon cowell/sharon osbournes phone!!"

so yeah, more adverts please! phone adverts!

I have yet to verify this...think I'll ask a friend to check it out. Im sure it's not the "official" price of the phone - as it's nowhere near being announced yet by the telcos. :)

is it only abailable in greenhills?.... do u think smart and globe is already offering it coz i haven't seen SEK750i in their ads yet... only 6680(on globe)....

nyway...greenhills is in fact a place.... its like a huge shopping complex with around four or five malls side by side... there are also small street-shops-like stores all around that sells things at retail prices... its a great place to buy phones and computer gadgets...very cheap! --->IT'S THE PLACE TO BUY PHONES here in the philippines...

I'm confused...are you referring to Los Angeles, California, or Los Angeles, Philippines? The other guy says "it's the place to buy phones in the Philippines"...but you make it sound like it's Los Angeles, CA...

:D I was referring to SwapMeet there in the LA, yup yup, in California. Greenhills is more or less the same = a place where there's lots of small shops/outlets. :D

Anyway, I think that the phone would be announced soon by the telcos - I hope that the price would be lower than that. Imho, 600$ is way too much for a non-smartphone.

We can also confirm that the K750 will be arriving by the end of May, however we expect the Nokia N-Series to perform better than Sony Ericsson. For example, the S710 didn't do as well (just a change in colour) compared to Motorola's change in colour for the V3. Also, non of the middle-end SE's have performed well (k300, j200, etc). Sony Ericsson should start doing something, or Motorola will takeover with Nokia behind.

k300 already out here, not a bad little phone if you llike that sort of thing (and are skint)
k750 any time now, the SE people have been round to my work (orange) showing the things off (very nice they look too) so it can't be long now.

the sooner they release it (and w800) the longer they get before the N series comes out.

where did u get this? is this an official announcement?
It's weird coz the people from Semicon (Eastwood branch) said this to me however the people from Sony Ericsson in Glorietta, Makati City said that there's still no official announcement

The K300i should be out soon coz it's already included in Globe's (or was it Smart) lineup of phones in their newspaper ads.

Well, it's not an official release, it's just through an independent telephone shop that imports it...too bad we won't be getting the N90 first:( You know that our latest S60 sold through a telco is a 7610, and even then that's hard to find???
