Have a few questions about K700i firmware:

1. What is/are the latest version of K700i firmware?

2.What are the differences and/or modifications among the different versions?

3.In what regions are these versions available? Is there a specific version for a specific region?(i.e. Asian version?)

4.And lastly, where can i get these newer versions? Can i do it by myself or do i have to have my phone serviced at a Sony Ericsson service center?

i would really really appreciate if you guys can help me and answer my questions! hope to hear from you soon! thanks in advance!=p

technically you can do it yourself if u can find the firmware on the internet.

the firmwares are not available from the SE website, so you would have to do a google search and find a website which has the firmware. u would also need a SE data cable. you cannot upgrade the firmware through bluetooth or IR as far as i know.

i wouldnt advise you to upgrade it yourself.

you should go to a SE service center and let them do it for you. you also would not have any risk of spoiling the phone thru upgrading the firmware yourself.

i believe there are different versions of the firmware like all other phones. one international version(k700I), and others for china(k700C) and russia.

there are also operator specific firmwares.

third party will void the warranty if they find out.

i have been using davinciteam software to unlock and debrand/upgrade.. so far so good...

btw, i never used seus to upgrade except my P900
