some are saying that it's "under-powered" and slow, is this true? What's your impression of that phone?

thanks for any info.

cheers!

It is slow. slower than ma P910 significantly. (Well, sometimes P9 does slow down too, but i know how to rid it) The interface's nice, call quality good, pics were good. Good Good Good. The only bad? Slow, bad batt life, weird holding of phone while talking (why not talk with the back side of da screen?, the screens smudges toooo freakin easy) No keypad, no thumboard, no qwerty watsoever, makes it hard to dial while sitting in car, impossible to SMS in car, walking and such. Impossible to use one handed. All in all, touch screens sucks without a keypad/thumboard or qwerty.

there is no need to read michaels review.. commedecargons has already mentioned about the pros and cons of the phone.. the cons are just too much.. dont go for it, u will regret it later.. go for a 6630 or 6680.. or else just wait for the N90 which will be out shortly.. or else go buy the p910..

Well, i do hope that all features featured in N91, hsould end up in some stuff like 7710. I mean if they trimits screen edges being closer to the screen and replace most of the buttons with rockers and a scroll wheel. The whole phone could be further decrease in size, significantly. Next, Nokia couls pioneer the use of back talking as this further removes the need for cleaning the huge screen of 7710. Then, a 4GB hdd, WiFi, 3G and such makes people forgetting the difficulty of SMSing, when they're simply using Instant messengers! The screen's size of 7710 will only do justice to the 4gb hdd, as this will allow many usage of the hdd. They could even tuck in some DVD viewing software. :)

Note* My short 'review' , includes the cumbersome usage of touch screens without physical keypads/thumbpads couldn't be regarded as a cons in my opinion because all such smartphones without keypad's behave like that and people learn to cope with it. Therefore, it should not be considered as a cons for not buying the phone, instead should be just a sort of reminder. :)

If Nokia dosnt get its act together (or the symboan consortium or whoever the hell they are) and start supporting siginificant CPUs in their OS they are going to end up like Palm1 - nice OS no power. They need to get into the XSCALE territory OR Aalchemy (AMD). The Symbians of the world are expensive as it is too - so I can only imagine, trying to make them faster would bulk up the prioce too. ITs a really crappy double edged sword.

BUT - they do need to get their act together, because those CPUs are junk.

the 7710 has had it's fair share of problems, like
it's speed but the introduction of new firmware
updates and software by nokia, has made it more
user friendly
