When I transfer my MP3 songs across to my phone they change to mpeg and I cannot set them to be my ringtone. I then changed one to aac and saved it to my memory card. When i went to set it as my tone, it was not in the tones list ! Is there a way that I can play my songs as ringtones on the 6630.

Thank's, Baggie.

hi there,.......... try to put the songs under the "sound clips" folder. Then they should be under the "digital sounds" folder. Only then will they appear on your profile for you to use them as your tones.

cheers!

Well I have now found it on the tones list "doh" but it is now saying "unable to set as tone. file format not supported" although it is saved as audio/aac. there are other tones on the phone sucha as grand prix.aac & chopin.aac that were already on it and they work. Any ideas. Oh i'm on Vodafone as well

Thank's Baggie

Im curious... what software did you use to convert the mp3 into aac?

I'm using windows server 2003 which lets me change the files to any type that I want. After I put the nokia pc suite in I changed an mp3 into aac and it recognised it.

This is just a guess... but why not try to use the PC Suite itself to convert the mp3? Using the nokia media player (in the suite) might just do the job for you.... it might convert the song into a "format" that the phone is sure to recognize?

cheers!

Down load ogg player its free and install it on the fone. Now use audiacity to export any file as ogg file. The fone will now recognise ogg files and use them as a ringtone. I used this on a voda branded 6630 with no problems
