In 7+ months, my phone is showing some signs of wear & tear.

Most notable (annoying) is the rubber piece at the bottom that covers the power/headphone/cable connection. It just doesn't want to stay flat anymore.

The second thing is that the silver finish was worn off some of the edges at the top of the phone and by some of the buttons.

The swivel is still fine. And the screen is still unscratched (knock on wood).

I have about 200+ ringtones and 50+ games on the phone. I only use about 10 and 5 now (I have PSP). I used the MP3 player when I was listening to Cantonese lessons and rarely use the radio since the stations are Cantonese here.

Mostly I just use the camera and make calls nowadays. I still have to get it flashed so the video problems will be fixed.

Yeah, I have to hold the rubber thing in place for a while in order for it to stay in. But it bows out a little bit, so it's not completely flat anymore.

Just take it off, or have it replace.... :) the rubber's actually protecting the connectors from getting damped .... (especially UK's weather) phone connectors would get fungae or algae ..... i heard this from a friend of mine. Overall, i do think that materials used in K700 was better than S700 and my P910. i drop my P910 on TARMAC! that day..... the plastic casings getting all sorts of dents. Poor P910...... the finishing was scratched off as well..... but overall it's still fine. hmm. come to think of it, my P910's 7 months too! :) why couldn't they just use k700's material on all phones? :(

had my S700 for 9 months now, sounds the same as yours. i actually took the rubber piece off with the intention to put it back on, but i lost it. Must say it looks a lot better without the rubber piece

I think in general silver colored phones tend to lose their coloration after some time...

If the plastics were actually just colored silver to begin with instead of being painted that:rolleyes:
