You may have noticed the "promotion" they are running selling iPods for $99. This is suppose to be for 25 pieces and Feb and 25 piece in March. Yesterday they offered the Feb supply for sale. I got on the site and placed the order succesfully, my credit card was charged and an email with the details of my order was sent. The site continued "selling" the units for more than an hour. Today, they cancelled my order and claimed I was not part of the group of 25. So, I have spent $118.40 for nothing. I will receive nothing except the rude emails telling me it was their right to cancel the order. My understanding is that charging my credit card is acceptance of a contract. Was anyone else out there scammed in this "promotion"? They adverise on mobileburn.com and are not trustworthy. I am certain that this was just a scam to attract traffic. They claim they could not shut down the order system and that is why orders continued to be completed. Interesting that the order system continued to accept orders but they were not able to access the system to shut it down. This to me is the making of a class action suit.
If anyone else out there supposedly completed a transaction only to find that they were scammed, please let me know.

Charge it back to your card as an unauthorized credit/debit... if they didnt make good on the product that they said they would supply in exchange for your fee then they didnt hold their end of the bargain... also too many chargebacks to one vendor/merchant account will shut down that account... banks dont like a lot of unhappy customers with returns/chargebacks... there are acceptable percentages and they are extremely low... I would get with other people that had this same issue and solve your own problem and additionally try to stick it to them....

They really pissed me off. They sent an email confirming the order but sent no email cancelling it. I just happened to notice it on the site today. Then they act as though I am trying to get away with something and am being pissy. They offered one hell of a deal but I expect them to live up to it. If they truly sold out of the 25 units then why did the site accept my order. I also ordered within one minute of the sale going live but apparently many others ordered before me (right!). Why not just put into the order system 25 units and once they are gone don't allow any new orders. This was just a scam to try and drive traffic to the site. I files a complaint with the BBB and will also file a complaint with the FTC. I am just hoping to find others who had the same experience.

I hear you. It seems too good to be true. I saw the promotion and was looking every day to see if it went off. I placed my order as soon as it started and then heard nothing. I was kinda pissed I got scammed. Finally I got an email this morning apologizing for the delay.
I was ready to start fighting, but turned out I actually got in on it. He explained that they got more than the anticipated response and it actually crashed the site for a while, making it impossible for me to verify my order to come through. he said it took them a while just to sort out which orders came through first and said that they might not even run this again in march untill they can sort out that this will not happen again. When I went back late last night mine showed as canceled also. It now shows as live & shipped.
I still will not say for sure until it is in my hands, but I got a tracking number and everything.
I'll let you know how it turns out when I receive the package.
I'll either be really glad or mighty pissed for the wait.. I'll let u know though.,
Keep trying to email them until u get a response
Good Luck.

"sort out which orders came through first..." Sounds to me like they have no idea what they are doing. What did they end up doing, pulling 25 out of a hat?

I placed my order as soon as it started and then heard nothing.
When did it start...I'm wondering if it coincides with school hours. Since I'm a student, I can't exactly be checkin every hour on the hour, so I'm just wondering...

I have to say that at least they credited my account back today. Thats one point in their favor.

Well, apparently they decided that the situation would be best handled by getting those who had orders cancelled to buy from them.
Quote:
A few of us over here have sat down and come to the conclusion and are able to offer you the following as an alternative.
You may select any phone from this section of our site using the group code discount and recieve a free iPod with the exceptions of:
1. ShowMeMoto
2. All Sky Phones
3. All Samsung phones (However the Matrix is available in the list).
We only made the exception to those 3 above because of the lack of supply in the market, otherwise you can choose any phone from there if you are willing to wait till a new one is found.
We have decided to extend this promotion to everybody who has had an order canceled on them.
If you believe you have another alternative idea which would best compensate you as well as be fair to our company we welcome your suggestions as well.
Regards,
Wireless Imports
