It's a great phone.
If you can wait one month, you could get the 6681 or 6680 which are both superior to the 6630.

But it's also more expensive...you have to weigh the pros and cons. Do you need the extra features on the 6680/81 like the 262k screen, flash, desktop feature, etc. at the additional cost? Or will the 6630 be more than adequate for you, with its MP camera, MP3 player, hotswap memory card, albeit DV RS-MMC, etc... Yes the 6680/81 is a superior phone, but the 6630 is already in its own right. Any S60 is already good enough as it is, but of course it's all in the little details. In the end, just look to what you need, not what's the newest thing.

For buying any new phone,I think one can wait for atleast 2 months so that you will have a stable version and even the price will come down
I'm having 6630 with latest FW (3.45.113) but still occasional rebooting problem persists.

Trust me mate u dont need the 6680! The price is gonna be high becoz of the dual cam! 6681 doesnt have 3G... 6630 is a future proof phone!
A suggestion though.. if you can wait till 6680 is released it would be great becoz the price of 6630 is sure to go down! But i still think 6630 is the phone for you! I own it and i love it!

One more reason why i say 6680 could be a problem is the 262 k Screen it could drain ur battery in no time! Also there is not much of a difference between 65k color screen and 262k color screen!

the 262 actually won't draw much more than the 65k.

This really depends on whether you know anyone else with video calling though, doesn't it?
The 6630 is great in my humble opinion, after years of not toughing nokias with a bargepole, this really won me over.
It is fun, there are so many applications and uses, the camera is great, it is a piece of piss to navigate, and it's pretty to look at.
But then again, i don't know anyone with a video messaging phone, so the whole stand thing is not an issue for me. Although I wouldn't walk down a street making a video call anyway, as you would probably get mugged.

Btw, I know this has been discussed about to death, but is it possible to make video calls on the 6630 w/o the stand? Like using a mirror? hehe What about video sharing?

yes you can but like you stated, you have to use a mirror or just keep turning the phone around.
i love my 6630 but there are two major foactors which annoy one its keeps full on crashing and i have to hard reboot the handset then restore all my backup data this happens once a week without fail. 2nd the rubber part on the lense is falling apart making it look shabby. I love this handset in all other aspects the 6680 will help with the slider on the back. id personally wait.
besides e occasionally rebooting and short battery life, everything seems great to me
To CPW,
Copy your DV RS MMC card to your PC and then format to "FAT"......then load the dvrsmmc to your phone and re-format....then copy all contents back to your DV RS MMC card. Enjoy the stability......................
The problem is the mass produced poorly formatted DVRS MMC card
Cheers,
:Dmie
believe it or not ive done that previous aparently its to do with oranges firmware. their exchanging soon lets see what happens.
thanks anyway

hey...i have a6630...and i have absolumo no problems with it...so i really dunno where these crashing problems and the like come from ! i for one can safely say...for a phone i was scouting since early October last year...it has totally lived up to all i expected it to...my only gripe is pro'lly the effective RAM...but thats not a killer prob..so its cool !
go for the 6630 mate...its worth it...and quite "futureproof" !

wait until the 6680/81 comes out, see which is better yourself, then take advantage of the 6630 price drop!
