I finally got the new 6630 firmware 3.45.113

and im happy to say it fixed some of my complaints, mainly the problem i had with the 3G network. the phone used to make a high pitch whistle sound on 3G network when im talking on the phone, but now it no longer does that :)

also they added "Network Mode" in the Network Settings. you have the option to select "GSM" which locks the phone to GPRS as far as i know, and "Dual Mode" which switches from GPRS to 3G and visa versa.

some people(like one of my friends) complained that the phone used to disconnect the call when he's talking and the phone switches to GPRS and 3G. setting the phone to GSM would prevent that from happening. ofcourse, im not sure if that was fixed in dual mode. i will have to try it out.

also i hear the phone doesnt crash like it used to.....barely happened to me anyways.


but im still pissed that i still cannot change the color palletes when editing my wallpaper. though shaheen claims his 6630 changes pallets(he's got the new F/W too)

anyways, so far so good, and im glad Nokia patched up the phone, makes me love it even more! :)

oh, i though it was just lik yours. it's probably like a tiny difference. where can you check? also do you know a site that lists all Nokia F/W with the list of improvements/enhancements?

i can't believe that the color pallettes are not changeable in this magnitude of a phone! my 6620 has like 12 solid colors and another 12 different color combos...i find that bizarre!

The colour palette does not change on themes like the preinstalled one and most themes on the internet, this is not a problem with 6630 but with the theme.
If you load the original Series60 theme, you will see that colour palette works just fine.

dont go off topic here. this is about 6630 firmware.

anyway, nokia should list hte differences in their firmware on their site, seems rather pointless to go through so much trouble to get it and then realise theres no difference.

Well, it's obvious there isn't much difference between 3.45.111 and 3.45.113, it's such a small interval of difference. But between 2.39.126 and 3.45.113, there are many changes.

If there is a newer firmware version out it's because the previous version had bugs, it's the same with any type of program.

ive had 3.45 since day one i bought mine beginning of december. i need a firmware upgrade my handset crashes every week without fail and ive tried all the antidotes but it doesnt do anything for me. ahhhhh bloody phone.

No keypad button is pressed, neither have i received a incoming call or a message but still the phones backlight turns on and off automatically while i am talking on the phone! Strange problem.. has this problem been fixed.. or can someone tell me the reason why its happening??

i have the new F/W and it still happens but it's alot less frequent. so it doesnt bother me as much as with the older firmware(the one you have).
