In India it costs around Rs. 26500 which is around 607 USD OR 322 GBP.

No, but things in Sweden are expensive due to high taxes and other stuffs.
If you look at the second post in this thread you see it costs $ 875 in Lebanon.

Yes, it's still very expensive here. I didn't like this phone when I tried it.

I will tell a few of my friends to get one. It is reasonably good value
for money.

I did not like the 7710 because of the lack of keypad, very slow menus, and especially the stripes on the cover.

i like the features, but as karim said the lack of keypad and the size is a bit too much

yeah no keypad sux, i have a jam and thats on e of the few things that bothers me.
my only serious gripe is the size of the thing:D

As of today 7710 is scare commodity here in Bombay India hence prices have jumped between $625 to USD $660. I bough mine for about USD $590 when it was newly launched.

that is the only point of the 7710, that it comes without a keypad
and it is touchscreen ot you can use a pen to input information.
Nokia already has the 9500 communictor for those who need a keypad,
they introduced the 7710 to widen their range and appeal to
those who don't want to use a keypad.

actually you can still dial numbers on touch screen phone. however its not like dialpad but you still CAN.

dialing numbers with your fingers isnt really an option. the screen becomes all nasty and have the time you press two buttons at the same time.

yes, actually you can dial with one hand but it doesn't feel so good and speedy like dialing phone with keypad and regarding screen getting dirty, put an screen protector, this will make phone look clean and cleaning screen protector is bit easy.

why is the 7710 not available in mumbai. is it because too many
people have bought it or there were too few 7710's delivered

I called nokia last and they said that fresh stocks will arrive by march 13. dealers who have it r quoting 29k, although the price is around Rs.24500.

ram is impossible to add....u got fair bit of ram on that fone if am not mistaken ... wat is the onboard ram exactly ?

does it? even with the limited amount of ram s60 has it multitasks fairly well... i would go out on a hunch here s80 should be able to multitask as well

series 60 does that well, bcoz, it has limited graphic capabilities, a big screen on series 80 or 90 is enough reason to have more ram and more processing speed, even the processor is slow at 120 MHZ.
