Confused Plz help

Hi everyone i came across this forum while trying to find some answers. First off gr8 forum guys (i browsed it loved it and thats one reason i registered :D )

Ok onwards to my Question.

I am planning to buy my sister an N-gage but am not able to decide whether it should be the original or the QD. Any advice guys would be appreciated.

Also can someone pls tell me the prices of both handsets in Mumbai India first and second hand?

ngage if your sister needs stereo mp3 music but has to use it taco style, have to tilt it sideways..

ngage QD if you want something slightly smaller but no taco talking

TY for replying shaheen. Well i dont think she'll mind the talking style cause im just gonna get her the bluetooth headset. Thing is almost everyone keeps saying that the Original Ngage is way more better basically cause it has all features of a phone plus a USB port which the QD doesnt have. But the QD has a better screen and Hot swap. In your opinion which would be much better?

Look amy, My serious advice is dont go for N-gage, whether it is N-gage or N-gage QD! I bought my brother a N-Gage original and even i used it for few days! My experience was horrible! Its just a pain to have a N-gage! If she sends lot of messages then i am sure she will be fed up with the phone within 2 or 3 days of you getting the phone for her! There are so many other options for you!

Between N-Gage and N-Gage Qd, no doubt N-Gage original is better than the QD! But here are some questions you need to think about before you buy N-gage!

1) Does she need a Smart phone (series 60)? If not then there are so many other options!
2) Does she listen to MP3s?
3) Side talking is a big problem in N-gage original (even though you say you are gonna get her a Bluetooth headset)
4) Size of the phone (the phone is huge)
5) Does she play lot of games?
6) N-gage has a very slow User Interface.. The phone is very slow!

If she doesnt play lot of games and doesnt need a smart phone.. then Nokia 6230 is the best choice for her.. its got Stereo mp3, size of the phone is small, normal brick shapeand one of the fastest User interface i have used to date! You will have to spend a little more on this phone!

Please think and buy because i am regretting the fact that i bought the n-gage! I am never gonna buy a n-gage no matter what features it has.. becoz it is very difficult to use!

Price in India (even in mumbai) :-

N-gage original - Rs 8000 (or less)
N-gage Qd - No idea maybe around Rs 8500 (more or less)
6230 - Rs 10000 (without bill)

I suggest that you dont buy N-gage Qd, it doesnt have Stereo MP3, FM radio and its a pain to use!

I thought of getting her a 6670 like mine but she loves to play games and basically i just need to keep in touch with her now and then via phone. Can u elaborate about the msgs part is it very difficult to send and recive sms's?

Anyways this is like a playtoy for her to enjoy with if u know what i mean. Cause in june im starting up a new job and ill be buying her a new and better cell next yr. This one is for the time being so i can stay in touch with her and even she will enjoy playing games on it cause she isnt much of a software freak like me lol.

I think id best stick her with an ngage for a yr and see how well she handles the phone as i dont want to buy her something expensive and have her lose (which will cause me having a heart attack) lol

man amy u are such a caring sibling.. i recommend the 6230 too.. its a very good fone.. i have sued the original n gage and it is not too bad.. i dont find the UI slow.. altho it has only a 5000 colour screen, it is very sharp.. the messaging thing opn the ngage- u one can use one hand to msg..

... look at the 6230 or k700i

both are excellent fones.

both have good features are lightweight and small and great looking

ngage ive used barely could not tolerate it. if budget constraints are there well i suggest 6230 best vfm fone on the planet

There are'nt budget constraints just that im kinda cautious about giving her an expensive cell phone. It's become a major necessity to stay in touch with her as i work all day and if i need to contact her she needs to have a cell too. I was thinking of giving her an ngage as a valentines day present as she's the only sibling i have.

As a starter phone though i thought the Ngage would do cuz
1 she's still young and i dont think she needs all those shenanigans of a camera phone
2 it will keep her occupied with all the games (atleast she wont get bored)
3 it's good enough for a first phone

I just want to see how she handles this phone so next yr i can upgrade her to a much better piece. Just wanted to know which was better the original or the QD.

I agree the side talking thing did bug me but the Original ngage as capri cap said is more feature rich. Ive def decided to buy it today itself and gift it to her.

Yes, the N-Gage has great features for its' price. And it has a miniUSB port!

yep went for the priginal Ngage better features + usb connectable so an added bonus according to me (BT is slooow when u have to transfer mp3 or bigger files just my opinion)

one suggestion amy pick up a card reader from lamington .... and 256 mb card too. it will make life a LOT easier in the longer run cable is a reallll drag
