I'm on 02 put in that code and found out I'm using addl3 software. Why is that a bad thing?

I've got D500XADKB, which is a GSM unlocked unbranded version, straight from the box.

Hi Steve I'm using D500DDED4 with no probs at all on O2, it's the latest D500E firmware with vioce commands that are Brill! :)

I have been having the same limited service problem with O2 on my unlocked D500 (Tmob And Orange work fine) for some time now, I have flashed my phone with D500ADDK1, D500ADDL3, D500XADKB and finally D500DXEB5. NOT ONE has solved the problem.

The only thing that i have discovered is that you can flash the fone with a usb cable using CoronaDownloader_v32. (Select the correct com port for your usb cable - mine was com 6 and set the com speed to 921600) It cuts flash time to around 20mins compared with 90 mins by serial cable. (And does away with 9v battery).

If anyone could suggest any other solutions i would be more than happy to try them out

trojanhymn, I have a USB data cable I bought off of Ebay. The serial # is WT048000317. I can't seem to flash my phone with it. I take out my sim car first then connect usb data cable. The phone "No SIM card" and has a "SOS" option at the bottom. I clicked on start in the Corona downloader and it says power on phone. I did that and nothing happens. My phone is setup up to use com 5 but it didnt work. I tried com1 as well. Any ideas? Does your data cable have same serial #? Also, I went to cell phone shop and they had a samsung data cable with a switch in it. One side said D/L and the other said data. Thanks for the help

eughuge718, power off the phone, remove Sim, plug USB Cable in but don't power the phone back on! When corona asks you to press the power button just press it once, don't hold the button! you don't actually power the phone on.

Dont know the serial no. of my usb cable but it has got a little black box about 5 inches from the end which connects to the fone. Have no idea why its there though.
Try this out.

select control panel
Go to System
Go to Hardware
Go to Device Manager
Expand The Com Ports Area
Locate and write down the assigned com port number for your cable
Make sure your Battery is fully charged cos if the battery fails you will kill your phone.
power off the phone with no sim inserted and connect phone to USB cable and USB cable to PC.
Open the Corona flash program
select com port that was assigned to your cable
set com speed at 921600.
select the BIN + TFS radio button.
press the BIN button and open the firmware.cla" file you wish to use
press the TFS button and open the firmware.tfs" file you wish to use
Click Start.
power the phone on when prompted.
Phone will connect, and the "Download" button will now be highlighted
click the download button and the flash will begin
The entire flashing process takes approx 20 min.
Once flash has finished, press stop.

I have a D500C handset, which I need to flash(it wont start, just hangs at samsung logo). [bought the mbile in US, using it in india]

1. Can you pls tell me which is the correct image for D500C?
2. Alternately, can I just install any D500 software on a D500C set?

hey guys. i need helpp i tried powering off and taking out the sim card plug in the usb cable start the corona downloader do all those step and press the power button once didn't work. turn on the phone and it didn't work. is there something to do with the flashing that i don't know about? all it does is "POWER THE PHONE ON!" thats it. doesn't do anything. cna't download the flash
