Nice review Michael.

How is the UI? Is the screen low-res like in the other Sxxx models?

136x176 ..... i would say it's fairly ok. although K700's is a 176x220 ......

But what i mean is do the pictures and icons on screen look like crappy drawings like the other siemens, or is there an improvement?

from the pics, i dun think so~~ actually, compared to SE(new ones) and Samsung, and alot of Korean made phones, Moto, Nokia and Siemen's icon drawings were considerably UGLY.

I hated using a Sharp ~~ not very good UI. I played with a Pantech the other day; oh my.....their UI is horrible!!

Not matter what anyone says Nokia has by far the best UI. Even the SE UI's arent very good.

yupe... they're exceptionally good on average, but i do think alot manufacturers should really absorb wat others was doing good, for example Nokia's multi character search in phonebook, SE's frequent sms list under phonebook, Moto's customizable UI, Nokia's grouping ringotne thingy, SE's 1 step BT/IR on off~ and most of all Quickshare which is exceptionally good. Actually Nokia and Motorola is one of the latest to adapt the proven formula ---> 12 icon based UI. In my country, the first to use this is Panasonic GD90. It's a breakthrough.

Yeah it would be great if manufactures would suck it up and learn from each other. We would end up with great UI's across the board.

Anyone who build the BEST UI can just walk into any software company and ask for the CTO position, :)

I agree the default ones aren't nice at all.
But the difference is, with Siemens phones you can change the icons.:)

There is a special unofficial way to change the icons on 65-series phones, it has nothing to do with the themes. However unlike most modifications, it is legal.:)
Here's an example on an S65:

It's so pixellized! I can count the pixels one by one! I wish Siemens would consider 176x220 displays!

U mean changing the icons by flashing it?

Not really, you sort of download a program where you can access hidden folders on the phone.

Honestly, how often are you going to hold the phone that close to your face?

Commone, it's not pixelised at all IMO, any phone digitally zoomed to this size would have their pixels shown like that one..... provided that phone had a screen size of 6230 and with 640x640 resolution!!

But the difference is, with Siemens phones you can change the icons.:)I haven't seen any way to change the icons on the new Siemens handsets. All themes on the SK65 and S65 have the same monochomatic icons.

Like I said before, it's not the themes that change the icons.
