I'm wondering if anyone has used their X70 with a mac system? I'm wanting to see if it is compatible with the iBook's bluetooth function. I went into an Ortange store and they told me it wasn't mac compatible, and the CD driver software was only for PC's.
Also, would a PC have to be Bluetooth enabled or does the X70 software take care of it (do you need a special cable for that?).

Specifically I'm wanting to know if I can download photos from the X70 without having to send them as photo messages onto the mac.

theoretically it should be fine. Just sending things via bluetooth is a very basic function and shouldnt require any panasonic software at all. You may not be able to synchronise using isync, but just transferring files should be fine.
I think!
and yes, the pc would have to be bluetooth enabled, but you can do that with a usb dongle same as you can with any mac running 10.2 upwards that doesn't have built in bluetooth!

I have looked at the Apple approved list and it looks like the X70 isn't compatible: http://www.apple.com/isync/devices.html unless there is someone who has actually used it on a Bluetooth mac themselves?

That list is just for devices that are supported by Isync. The bluetooth stack is independent of isync and so that list is irrelevant.
all it means is that you wont be able to sync your phone book and calendar to your mac, but as i said, the file transfer of pictures via bluetooth should work fine!
i can give it a go though if you like!

Yeah definately! If you have a mac with Bluetooth I would be really interested to see if it worked. I've got an iBook G4 with operating system 10.3, in case that is any use.

Tried it yesterday. Sending pictures back and forth no problem.
Was using the 15" titanium G4 with 10.2.6 on it. Used an MSI PC2PC bluetooth USB dongle.
Could not get it going with isync or as a modem, as it did not respond to any of the modem scripts and I dont know enough to write my own. Tried the panasonic scripts from taniwha.org.uk but they did not work with the x70.
So basically, for sending piccys and ringtones it is fine, but dont expect to be able to do anything else with it!
