v551 with CIngular?

Hello,
I own a quad-band v551 and then I go to options and change the band to 900/1900, why doesn't it show any signal? It can't find service with Cingular in Boston.

Cingular uses only the 850/1900 band in the u.s...You have to be international before the 900/1800 band will do you any good. (europe, asia, etc...) the 900/1800 is not used in the u.s. That's why you can't get service using these...reminder...always have that set on automatic..

something else...if you have your phone set to automatic or 850/1900 and still do not get any service, check to see if Cingular actually offers service in that area, if they do, get your phone checked out, there may be something wrong with it.

You should leave the signal search to automatic.
