Finally a gsm phone semi-review :D. i love this phone alot and its good to see some nice pics of it. i for one cant wait for it. 3mp and 3x optical zoom is just pure insanity for a phone camera. anyone else like it?

I think its top-heavy and will generally feel uncomfortable to hold and manuever in the hand.

yea..it looks uneven, but for thta kind of specs even if it looked like the motorola bag phone id buy it!

My girlfriend and I both just had our birthdays, and we were on a Caribean cruise to celebrate. I am still in Florida, flying back in an hour. Shortly after I left port my apartment lost power and the cable modem got hosed, meaning that nobody could access the admin server to post new stories.

I had a friend go in and fix it.

Anyway, I have a lot to do before I leave for Cannes next weekend. Hope to launch our first contest while I am in France. Motorola has donated a RAZR as a prize, and LetsTalk.com is donating some accessories.

Would also like to get the RAZR and SK65 reviews up before I leave.

Xcute will be sending us a DV1 to review next month if all goes well.

hmmmz... but shaheen ... the xcute DVI is basically a rip off of what samsung did ...

i m sure everyone here knows of samsungs's 5 MPX , camera phone ? SGH -S5000 or sumthing ( i hear its comming out in fall 2005 europe GSM editition)

well ... samsung basically "grafted" a handphone keypad and software and antenna onto the camera module and produced a 5 MPX phone/

what does this have to do with the XCute ? ya might b asking

in asia , there is this cheapo low end brand of cameras known as CHe-eZ or sum crappy name and they make EXACTLY the minature CMOS lens type of video-cam style cameras . ( 3mpx too if i remember correctly)

notice the similarity between the XCute ?

its basically the same concept. the grafting of a mobile phone feature onto a camera body ...

well you cant exactly say that theyre similar, i mean in that case its like saying the s700 and sagem myx8 are similar cause theyre both 1.3mp ccd. thats not true. besides the Xcute dv1 has 3mp 3x optical zoom and has the best kick ass video taking at 30fps, as good as a digital vid cam like the Pentax optio MX that records at 30fps. and theres oen major difference between this phone and the samsung 5mp one.



this one is gsm ;).

Why noy they just add bluetooth into a Canon EOS Digital SLR and with a built in phone module, so that the user can take pictures while using a bluetooth headset. That might satisfy alot of Megapixel freaks...... i guess the next conversion would be:

Phones with built Telescopes, forget 3x Optical zoom; start the 2000x optical zoom..... :D

The convergence of techno gadgets is good, but once they loose their primary design objectives, it would end up being a stupid thing. Taiwanese and Koreans are notorious for doing that~~

actually for me its functiosn first then phone when i buy phones. so if they made a laptop with a 30mp camera etc BUT as an addon it made calls and smsed as well, id buy it.
